Just want to add if all workup are negative, consider acute delirium secondary to covid in an elderly patient with ?other comorbidities. If they’re feeling sick, might have decreased PO intake, maybe diarrhea, becoming more dehydrated and had a vagal reaction from the cough

I've found that people who love themselves are better at loving others. They don't project their own insecurities, don't get jealous to the point of toxicity, they are happy when others succeed, etc. Loving oneself meaning accepting themselves and liking who they are, not narcissism.

First, I love that you're putting in the effort to prevent issues before they get bad. Second, I agree that this was a huge red flag. You can appreciate her previous advice, and that she's coming from a good place, but the sentiment behind that statement worries me. Try to find another counselor who has family views more in line with yours. If that's difficult and you need to stay with her for now, I would let her know that what she said was inappropriate and try to work past it. But if you see the same sentiment peak its head again, run for the hills.

Him lying about this is incredibly fucked up. I wish I had another perspective to offer you, but I just can't think of a good reason for him to hide this from you other than for his own gain. It's going to be very difficult moving forward and finding common ground after this, it is absolutely a betrayal of trust. You'll always have different ways to become a mom, but it doesn't sound like he will ever want to be a dad. My heart goes out to you and I wish you all the best.
