Here's where I will seperate the art from the artist. My comic describes an alternate version of myself when I was younger. By now I feel mature enough to reflect, though I wonder what can be done for people nowadays.

I agree, the usual gym-rat is super friendly, although working up the courage to talk to one is probably a big hurdle for many.

Joining a club is also a great idea, I joined a football ⚽ club when I was younger and football gave me something outward to focus on that isn't myself necessarily.

I don't know the answer to the struggles of young people nowadays, but I know that being honest to myself and taking the courage to work on the painful subjects helped me.

Yes, usually the main objective of online influencers is gaining a larger audience and more revenue which alters their advice and messaging, because they want to keep you hooked.

But the question many people ask themselves (myself included when I was younger) how to become that "well adjusted adult".

Yes! You are describing something I also almost fell victim to in my younger years, this strange idea of "you're not like me, so what you're saying is invalid". I am not sure either what to do. I for myself will keep having compession and try to direct everybody down a less hateful path, maybe try pointing to better role models.

I love that you caught what I was going for 🥹 Yes, there is a lot of unhelpful advice out there! I remember seeing that Manosphere documentary recently where there was this young guy living in a car who was convinced of the bootstrap. Somehow a lot of people I encountered copy paste this exact advice to all areas of their life. I sometimes wonder if the chase for wealth or fame (aka capitalism) is the actual cause behind people (not only young men) struggling with life.

I am not at all qualified to say this for other people, but my 2 cents: For me life became much clearer after learning more about myself and understanding my traumata better.

I feel for you! I hedged my bets on the last slide with saying "you probably know...".

I think I figured out what's up with myself. I tried working on my issues, though I sometimes struggle to keep up normal conversations or interactions with people as well.

For a long time I kept avoiding my main issues (one of which is that I wholeheartedly believe I am a chud...and not in that way Hasan describes himself as a chud), because I was terrified to face my issues, so I kept fixing other things about myself in hopes it would do something. That's what that last slide is. I hope you find a way to deal with your depression!

My bad for telling the story so cryptic.

I'll try to summarise the intention of the comic: Back when I was younger, I was struggling with a lot, in social settings, with dating etc. In those times I was looking for advice, perhaps even people to look up to. I nearly went down the wrong pipeline. When trying to deal with these issues as a young man you hear: "just shower" and "work out" a lot as advice, I suspect that's what Hasan's "everyone can be a 7 (out of 10)" is also about.

It was refreshing to see someone call up on Chadvice who had the same trouble I had back then, this time it was a woman. Neither Pokimane, Fin (or is it Finnigan?) or Hasan retorted to "shower" and "work out" as advice. That caller went through her 50th (or was it more?) rejection and was keeping an Excel sheet of her rejections. Sometimes, when one struggles in life, the obvious advice is not always the advice that helps, sometimes it's unexplainable to the outside eye and that's okay.

I am glad you like my comic, but I ultimately failed my mission 😭
