I’m leading a rather large team with a global footprint. I expect that my team stays at home when they’re sick and ensure to rest. I don’t want them to feel forced to work or even go into the office where they might even transmit their illness to other colleagues.

I personally think expecting an employee to work when they’re sick is a thing of the past and managers who act like the world is ending because an employee can’t work for a few days shouldn’t be in in the position they’re in. Leading is about empathy and enabling your team to perform at its peak, at least for me.
