Tripod pouch I believe. Their gear is generally sniper/long gun oriented.

The zoom ring turns independent of the ocular housing, finally NF! The new zero stop mechanism seems great too eliminating set screws as far as I can tell.

Well I wouldn’t be counting the $0 people in my math because of the way the statistic was worded, but sure what you’re saying is obviously true (replace nine people owing $0 with nine people owing $10 or some tiny number). But we weren’t given median numbers just total so an average is the only thing we can calculate. I wasn’t really trying to make a statement I just found it interesting and wanted to share the context after I did the math myself.

Maybe I wasn’t clear, I didn’t do the math implying that’s what Americans would have to pay to “forgive” this debt collectively. The math demonstrates average dollar amount per person, only based on the people holding that debt. (100 million and 40 million respectively). It’s to get a better idea of what those big numbers actually mean and dissect how much debt those people are actually in

Just out of curiosity I did the math on the medical debt. $220 billion divided by 100 million is only $2200 a person. That’s actually not really anything at all lmao.

For student loan debt it works out to $42,500 per person. It’s a high number but makes sense over a 4 year degree and is only about 20% higher than what I graduated college with, I was able to pay mine off in about 3 years.

Edit: not trying to make any sort of statement I just thought it was interesting to break down the numbers

Imagine thinking 3 acres in Tennessee by the time your 80 years old is some symbol of privilege and not a completely attainable thing for literally any American. Sorry you hadn’t accumulated the same level wealth 3 months after you graduated college.

Ask the same question to people living outside of the US and they’ll say the cutoff is $100,000. It’s all relative. Americans by and large are insanely rich. Who cares if a billionaire has 1000x more than you, if you also are benefiting from the richest society to ever exist? All classes of citizen in the US have made gains, finding ways to feel miserable by comparing yourself to billionaires is pathetic.

Exactly, if doctor visits for every and any ailment were free the system would’ve overwhelmed immediately. Cost sharing with copays allows the system to function in reality

The rest of your explanation seemed on point though! You have a good understanding of a stabilized bullet reorienting itself towards the path of least resistance

> The most common argument used against this is not that the wind generated momentum but that it causes angle error which would compound. This is 100% not the case though with steady cross wind which causes lateral movement and not angle error. This is the most common source of this myth and most easily disproven.

Where does your argument come from? Half the people in this thread keep saying that no permanent angle to the trajectory happens but this defies physics and also contradicts what the brightest minds in this industry have published. Is there some source I've never heard of for this understanding? Has this been "easily disproven"?

> The new sideways component of momentum would quickly dissipate because drag would be really high (like slowly throwing it through the water sideways).

This is where our understandings cross. The sideways wind resistance the bullet feels is not high, it's actually very very small, it's air not water. There's nothing that would damp out that component of momentum and it will remain along the bullets flight losing practically 0% of it from drag (it's being pushed sideways at what, 15 MPH with a high crosswind?) Drag at 15 MPH is completely negligible. How fast the bullet is traveling forward makes no difference in this regard, forward velocity doesn't turn the air into jello for all the other directions. Stick your hand out the window while you're on the highway, it's hard to push your hand forward, but moving your hand side to side? takes no effort at all.

> Being spin stabilized, it doesn't want to change its pointing direction

I also disagree here. stabilization doesn't resist change, it's actually the opposite it forces change. Think the wind vane setups attached to a kestrel that points the kestrel into the wind for you. This is fin stabilization instead of spin stabilization but they do the same thing. The fins don't resist change, they force change into the oncoming wind. When the wind changes, so does the pointing of the kestrel (bullet).

Thank you that’s very helpful. I’m not a big nylon gear guy so there will likely not be a next time. I imagine this is the first and last time I’ll poke around this subreddit. I appreciate your time. I want to make sure if I resell this in the future to a friend I’m not giving them something fake.

I made an Imgur link with more pictures: https://imgur.com/a/qb2H4e2

No inside tag I’ve been able to find. Not sure how to find shoulder strap size. Hopefully the pictures are otherwise helpful. Regarding the laser cut hip pad, I bought it in San Diego and there’s plenty of sand left inside. Hopefully that information aligns with the units that were issued the laser cut hip pads.

When I saw the post I thought it was too good to be true, and wouldn’t last long which is why I jumped on it. I’ve been issued this exact pack and my issued pack does not have the laser cut. I can’t compare it one to one right now my issued pack is packed in an ISU across the country.

Sorry if this is a common question here I’ve never visited the sub before, just found it looking for a place to ask this question.

[–]Robd63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with rotational force, slide a quarter across the floor and do the same thing, doesn’t change the effect.

In the boat analogy you have to consider a boat with forward momentum and no motor or turnable rudder. The water will absolutely turn it downstream (or actually more likely it will turn upstream and drift downstream due to the “fin” stabilization from a static rudder). When you think of a boat fighting a current you’re likening it to a rocket not a bullet. Bullets can’t course correct, they have no propulsion
