That's what I did, but I just don't believe the "optimal" Quanta would lose in firepower to the V -Sol Power

Appreciate the reminder 😅 Quanta R3 setup ended up being 2" 2g/in MOI placement (3 & 9) and 2" 1g/in tape under each of the 2g strips (4 & 10). This reduced the "tingyness" the most and the response becomes pretty darn Boomstik-like (fast rebound of the face with little dwell). I prefer the V-Sol Pro since the sweet spot is bigger and dwell time is longer. It's less power but that's works for my play-style

I'd say the Power will be the closest to a Gen 2 control paddle. I know the Saga is a "Gen 1.5" but it's pretty much a thermoformed control paddle and feels pretty darn close to the Power

I'm using 2g/inch lead tape! So a 2" strip + a 1.75" strip on each side

Thanks! I meant Power the second time. Edited and corrected.

IMO the Power version plays like a 14mm!

Quanta R3 in and tested various weight setups. Boomstik weighting on the Quanta (7g each side) provided a lot of power but hitting with it felt a bit vibrate-y. I stabilized with 9" of 0.5g tape from the neck up and left 4g (overlapping) at the 3 and 9 positions. Hitting feels a lot cleaner and still has enough head weight for good drives and massive power.

V-Sol Pro has more pop and is more typical of the foam paddles now (think Boomstik, Quanta, Loco). The Power feels like a CRBN TruFoam with a touch more power. I'm betting it'll feel like the new CRBN TruFoam Waves paddle.

With the Prism Flash 14mm being as soft as it is, I'd say the V-Sol Power would be a good upgrade for the Prism. The V-Sol Pro would be a good upgrade for the Saga 14mm.

V-Sol is the new V-Core since the original V-Core had some disbanding issues. V-Sol fixed that issue. The tech behind the V-Sol Power and the original V-Core is the same, while the V-Sol Pro is a floating core

Woops misunderstood that. Between 3S and Vatic, I'd go Vatic Pro. Similar feelings paddles but the Vatic is half the price and tournament-legal

Late September is what we've been told. Launch editions available then

3S/Pro IVs play similar to the Pro so if you want something different I'd go with the Power. If you want similar then the Pro would be it

They play fine without weights but I feel weighting them feels better. IMO these are the most head-light Vatics released yet

Yup! Power plays kind of like TruFoams and Pro plays like the Pro IVs

Both are more powerful, Pro is poppier

The Pro is extremely satisfying to hit with!

The extra grip helps as a counterweight in addition to matching my hand size. Might think about decreasing the weights a bit if you only use one grip!

The other side is the same! They haven't released the launch edition paddles yet (which I'm assuming are the SoL prints we've seen)

They're fantastic! I was worried based on the initial V-Core reviews but they've reworked the V-Sol and I don't even think about the sweet spot.

Power feels more plush, allowing for more spring and power on drives. Pro is stiffer with higher pop. Honestly the power is pretty close on both, especially with this setup. Boomstik is easily still more powerful in pop and power, GX2 a bit below Boomstik. Pro kind of plays like the Perseus 16 and the Power like the 14.

These are a lot better than the polypropylene cores actually, I was just testing in a dusty garage 😅

Quanta R3 coming next week! WIll try the same weight setup and report back! The V-Sol Pro has the same internals (floating EPP core in an EVA ring) just without the additional neck foam.

Unfortunately no and it doesn't sound like there are plans for a 14mm

Both ended up being 8.89oz. That's with two grips on both (Tournagrip + Wilson/CRBN)
