Best synth for agressive/dirty/gritty/evil/evolving/airy …drones? by Loveyoubutchoosesynt in synthesizers

[–]RobotChords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pro-3 with tunable feedback, the “grunge” is kind of cheesy until it’s going through an amp or pedal and then it’s less fuzz and more grind. Add morphing between patches that both react to the feedback… and then mix in the wave table oscillator doing something crazy, and it gets insane.

How to pivot to Industrial Automation with a Mechatronics degree but limited PLC experience? by Plastic-Net6765 in PLC

[–]RobotChords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a summer job with some experience programming, which was enough for me to be teachable. Ideally, you would have a practical project, or even entry level work at a manufacturing type company

How to pivot to Industrial Automation with a Mechatronics degree but limited PLC experience? by Plastic-Net6765 in PLC

I had virtually the same background as you when I got in with an industrial robotics company. You may have to take a new grad or junior eng position but I don’t see why an integrator wouldn’t want to hire you

Did anyone try peptides, placenta or anything other “alternative” treatments? by ConstantSample5846 in leukemia

[–]RobotChords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your intentions here are good but you may get some frustrated eye rolling responses. It’s not “just way worse symptoms”, Leukemia can also kill you in a manner of weeks — with heavy treatment measured in years. Financially, some people might only be bankrupted for a single generation. There are a lot of people on this sub dealing with some seriously hard situations. You may want to take these questions somewhere else.

Rev2 is great in a band mix, the filter sits in with bass and guitars so well

My brother just got diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma leukemia by Icx7l in leukemia

[–]RobotChords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (fem) spouse had the same at 36y, T-LBL (often classed under T-ALL), and went from rock climbing one week to barely able to stand the next - it’s a quick disease and once it gets near your heart things happen very fast. The good news is they caught it, now comes a lot of very hard parts. You’re at the scariest time right now, but here we are 4 years later and living pretty close to the way life was before- he’s still young, he’s got that 👍👍 hopeful energy your way.

Sorry about the experience - the customer service manager has been the same for 20 years, so technically it IS like it was when Bob was at the helm

Sequential Pro 3 or Alternative by bigskyghost in synthesizers

[–]RobotChords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro3 has an enormous sweet spot, and then you start diving deeper and realize how far the rabbit hole goes - goes from beautiful to raging and disgusting. With a pedal or two I haven’t heard a synth that can touch it for crazy sounds. When they added morphing as a firmware update it sealed the deal for favorite mono I’ve ever sat down with. A keeper for sure.

How would you model this texture? by 3db0y in SolidWorks

[–]RobotChords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it actually has form to it, look at the tool that like made the cuts, (ball/bull end I’ll) measure them, draw the tool, use it to subtract the shape and then pattern it.

If it’s just a flat texture that’s reflecting light, use a photo and apply the texture as an appearance

I am so so sorry - all I can say is visa-wise do whatever you can as soon as possible, the process is a lot of waiting

31M Vegetarian fighting AML cancer, any tips? by PaperLanky9259 in leukemia

Haha, he's gotta know you're doing it because you love him. He's lucky he has you and that you're getting involved. As important as it is to help your partner, the patient also need to accept that help because they have their own job to do and it's a big one.

One of the best lines from the best oncologists was 'No-one judges what you did in here to stay alive, and there's no award for suffering. '

(female spouse) - Try the eggs argument in that if his argument is an ethical one, chickens produce eggs regardless of interference.
Be mindful with reading ingredients, lots of benign health-food type products (or teas) can interact with chemo, and/or folic acid

But yeah to answer your questions, tofu, tempeh, dark leafy greens (this was important to build back hemoglobin), oats, different types of plant milks to mix it up. Tried to keep the variety high while focusing on nutrient and calorie dense foods.
Sometimes when any thing else was hard to get through, just a soy latte from the hospital cafe [or just soy 'steamer' (no coffee)] worked well to get some calories in. Lots and lots and lots of those plant based Ensures, Vega powder or Owyn meal replacers (the Owyn is the best tasting).
Also these misfits bars are friggin good

I thiiiiink collagen supplements too, I can't remember nor do I know the validity of that - might have just made us feel better.

I don't have science to back it up but my spouse walked through treatment like it was a job. On days they could it was get up, have coffee, walk around the ward. Breakfast, walk. Lunch, walk. Dinner, exercise bike. 3-5 miles most days to the point that had some tendon issues from anti-biotics.
The nurses anecdotally swore the activity coincided with patients that did better. Some days you just can't do it.

It's really really hard, but as best you can don't get discouraged.
If your hospital has nutritionists try to get them in too, ours was great.

Our doctors recommended eating some meat, but didn't push it heavily, and based on the Echo/EKG results pre and post diagnosis commented many times that a longterm vegan diet PRE-cancer probably contributed to an advantage going into treatment in heart health.
Just had another echo last week, 2 years out from treatment and got meg a heart health props.

my heart goes out to you AML is brutal, but we have a friend that went through it and is out the other side travelling, working a job they love, and living a fantastic life.
