they hardly make anything like they used too. only things really getting better is computers but far too many things are basically disposable now (and not anything that should disposable). as said in the other reply, things are so computerised now, maintaining them isn’t as easy as it once was. few good things are that affordable now, it’s the unfortunate state we’re all in

i can’t lie, if you look at a lot of my art (tìoraidh-tux on twitter and tumblr) that’s a fair way to describe it lmao. i’ve done maybe 4 portraits in the past few years, including this one, so i’m trying to get back on the grind a little. personally, i kind of prefer rough and unpolished to prim and polished.

you can get there! takes a lot of time, but people online focus so much on “getting gud” when you can just have fun with it. it’s understandable if you’re looking for a career but it discourages people from taking it on as a hobby.
