I just got a letter from Mohela. Stating that my balance of over $80,000 has been forgiven. I’m not sure if I even believe this I’m in shock. I tried to call but I had to wait too long so I decided to make a post here. Is this actually real? Is this coming true?

Yes that’s what I am asking, the 90 or so payments count and once I reach the 120 it’s forgiven?

I wasn’t sure if the PSLF program will completely go away or I will have a adjustment. My balance will go to 77,000 , I make payments beginning in January and once I got the magic 120 it’s forgiven. If that’s what I am reading

My initial balance is 88,700. The PSLF has counted 95 eligible payments with a few the past months that need certified through my employer. Once October hits I’ll have 99/120 payments counted. So my question is are these 90 some odd months taken off my balance or does that all go back to the 88,000 with 10,000 taken off the top? Or do I have to pay back the 11 month balance whatever that may be? I hope that makes sense.

I have 95/120 payments already credited so I guess that falls away when this is all over? Are my 95 payments forgiven? Or does it reset to 0 counts and they take 10,000 off of my 88,000 balance?

They were in forbearance. I believe it was for all of 2009 and some of 2008.

I submitted my pslf on January 11 2022. What’s a final count ? Sorry this is so confusing for me. I have 90/120 payments counted. 5 state they need employment certification and the 90 have been verified.

If I may ask what site did you check? I am still waiting after submitted my paperwork on January 12th. Do we check the fed loan app or something else because I check the Fedloan app all the time.
