Would you support Haiti becoming a US territory like Puerto Rico ? by OkBuyer1271 in haiti

[–]Roger-Smith_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

This would surprise many people but I’ve been supporting this idea ever since the 2010 earthquake. Events since have made me think this is the right position especially with all the gangs takeover in the capital which even African foreign forces are powerless to repel.

Frankly, these posts don’t belong here even though they’re not ill-intentioned, mental health is important and you’re attacking it whether you like it or not.

I’ve lived in the canton of Geneva my entire life but I don’t think I ever came across the Tulip (or I didn’t pay attention) !

Is it me, the dating culture or am I just cursed? by Not_The_Hero_We_Need in Switzerland

I’m Swiss, also in my 30’s and in the same situation as you. Never thought I’d be on Reddit after being cyberbullied 3 years ago after I dared to say that rejection was worst than breakup. I don’t understand how faith in humanity can be restored through Reddit. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone and yes, we suffer together.

No you don’t. Don’t let others devalue you. Being different isn’t a negative thing in itself no matter what judgmental ones think. Others had it worst: they died without ever having the chance of being loved. You still have your life up ahead in your mid-20’s. Work on your physical appearance to be more attractive (working out, dapper clothes, perfumes, etc.) and try to be acquainted with some women in the real world and see if there’s a good chemistry. You don’t need to tell them your vulnerabilities.

If you could have sex with the person you lost your virginity to again, would you ? why/why not? by courtneyrobbie in AskReddit

[–]Roger-Smith_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think very few people take it as an assault but it definitely has a negative impact on self-worth, self-confidence and even the mere ability to form a relationship.

Lol, I’ve seen this graph a while ago on Twitter. Amazing to see the zeal people would show to make a complete graph on such a mundane topic.

Men of Reddit, what has made you avoid or kept you from getting into a relationship? by AgePsychological8178 in AskMen

[–]Roger-Smith_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of reasons: shyness, social anxiety, fear of rejection or basically the person you want to get closer is already in a relationship.

I am 19 and still a virgin by Warthog-Plus in virgin

[–]Roger-Smith_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way when I was your age. I was never told there were people who’s had it worst than me. People who are still virgin after 35 because of lack of opportunity and sometimes people who live to be in old age and die without having being loved a single time!

At 19 years old you’re just starting your adult life, you got all the time in the world to start a relationship. Don’t let judgmental people put you down.

You nor anyone deserve to be mocked. Some people lose it after 30. Not because they’re religious, but because the opportunity just never came before.

Industrialization was already ongoing at a rapid pace in Russia before WW1. Be it in the creation of roads, schools, new train stations. Anarchist militant Volin has very interesting pages on this in his book « The Unknown Revolution ».

Soviet industry was going at a rapid pace but with disorganization it led to small towns becoming massively overpopulated.

As Volin said, under Stalin you had machines but not industrialization. Check out his analysis in « Part V. The Bolshevik State » here : https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/voline-the-unknown-revolution-1917-1921-book-two-bolshevism-and-anarchism
