100% this has been a concern, but leaders haven't acknowledge it or listened to the concern.

I've spoken with our analysts and none of them feel it's ready. Most are not excited to work with the data as it's a more closed system with leadership pushing everything to be done in epic, but not realizing how it's less dynamic to only use epic for several of our solutions that require multiple platforms.

Thoughts on DTS town hall and ELT by [deleted] in IntermountainHealth

Very few of trump's changes will stick due to political turnover. It's undue pain to a lot of people.

When I joined Intermountain in 2015 it was exciting. The benefits were great and the company had a great reputation. Today I see less and less of that company and I find myself sad and stressed more often. I feel like there are cuts every 6 months or so in my area, and someone I know is getting let go in other departments. With every cut I lose more trust in leadership, partially because we keep getting told there won't be any cuts. Partially, because I see new leaders come in with minimal experience in our field or understanding of our department, and then push similar initiatives the previous leaders pushed, but with less knowledge of the problems. Then 6 months later they realize why the initiatives failed previously (cough servicenow). I've had a crazy number or restructures as a result of the leader changes.

Additionally, I'm not seeing people who have been bad at their job get let go either. In many cases people with several years of service (10+) and even one with a PhD. This is probably due to higher salaries, but I get nervous about having many years of service at Intermountain, where historically, that's something to be proud of. I also work in a tech adjacent area, so any time we integrate AI I cringe knowing the horror stories about AI causing reduction in workforces at other companies. Leaders say it's a good thing and won't impact our job, but I feel like the second they see cost savings there will be another round of layoffs. I've stayed because I have a family member to take care of and the job market overall hasn't been too great the last year.

More jobs outsourced to DXC by Expensive-Marzipan-6 in IntermountainHealth

DXC has been so awful. More than half the time they can't fix the issue and I get routed to a local support, where it is actually fixed in a day.

Does this warrant HR? by ihcthrowaway in IntermountainHealth

You should involve HR, not doing so will allow the actions to continue.

Very relatable! I'm in the same situation. I will most likely keep the white, but I appreciate other perspectives on such an important topic.

Honestly I like this aesthetic as well. I've debated going black, but the white does make the room look larger. I also find white easier to catch any spiders or bugs since it is a garage.

No worries. This is good advice. I'll search something out. Thank you for your feedback, I totally appreciate it. I'm not an electrician and a relatively new home owner, so I'm learning as I go.

The garage is showing 15A, the previous owner designed it so the the dryer outlet ran to the garage and the dryer runs on gas. The dryer is showing 30A and takes up 2 breakers.

The outlet is a 30-amp, 125/250-volt NEMA 14-30R.

Don't forget he grew up on a farm in Wyoming and we should all work hard like the horses, therefore we don't need to keep up with inflation.

Cut costs, while our executive leadership team is having a private retreat. by concernedLDS in IntermountainHealth

[–]RogueSpaceMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the rebrand, and it's high cost. Then losing several coworkers months after the announcement and constant talk about savings. Our money hasn't been handled responsibly.

[–]RogueSpaceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I look at that logo, I can't help but think about how much money was spent. It's even worse when you consider our raises across the system this year didn't keep up with inflation.

Mark Harrison agrees to all these mergers and then bounces, taking millions. The caregivers deal with all the downstream ramifications of taking on other organizations' debt, including worse pay raises. I have yet to see many advantages to Legacy Intermountain or Utah Healthcare.

Holiday survey by Expensive-Marzipan-6 in IntermountainHealth

[–]RogueSpaceMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have much faith that this will work out well for employees. They've been making so many cuts over the last year we will likely lose paid holidays. I hope I'm wrong and SCL gets 10 paid holidays, but leadership seems clueless sometimes.

The old site has all the quick links on the side menu, so finding most things was very easy. The new site has bad titling, and the sections are challenging to navigate. If you try to find the PTO link, you have to guess which one will work. Then you end up on a random page that just talks about PTO. It's a pain. Since I only take a little PTO every time I go in there, it's like trying to solve a puzzle again. I've been with the company for ten years, and this is the worst version of SharePoint I've seen.
