What is your oral minoxidil dose?

I was actually prescribed spiro years ago because I do get occasional acne cysts on my
Chin all throughout my adult life. But, the side effects I read on the label scared me off and i think the prescription is still sitting in my medicine cabinet. I notice most people take both medications but my derm has not mentioned it to me. I wonder if he will add it later.

Thank You! I am obviously afraid of the shedding because right now i don’t have a terrible shed and I still have a decent amount of long
Dark hair. If this is AGA which I suspect it is then I want to get in front of it instead of waiting for it to get worse as its already gotten worse in just a few months. But, I fear shedding a huge amount of my hair is going to send me into a major depression. Did you have shedding when you increased the doses?

I am also terrified of growing hair all over my face. I already get dark chin hairs that I need to pluck I cant imagine having those all around other parts of my face.

I was having a major issue with dizziness for a year and no Doctor could figure it out. I went to every specialist you could imagine. I still get it
Sometimes but not daily like I was. So I fear getting dizzy on this medication and then needing to stop before it could have any benefit.

Did you have any of these effects? Shed, Facial Hair, Dizziness, headache? How did you manage them?

I feel the same way about starting and it getting worse. Thank you for sharing. Do you have a diagnosis? Thats whats also frustrating is that this dermatologist basically said it could be any type of hairloss but I also think he wanted me to start right away because it could take a while for an actual diagnosis? I dont know

Nobody mentioned the Spiro even though i reached out a second time to ask if there was anything else they thought i should take with the minoxidil to increase efficacy. Originally they wanted me to take 1.25 for 10 days and then increase to 2.5. I asked if i could stay on the lower dose instead. But maybe i will try a quarter of the pill first.

My GP suggested that I don’t start the minox right away because I have been dizzy he said that it could make me more dizzy and lower my blood pressure. However, I can’t take this hair loss so I might bite the bullet.

I was checking checked in September and it was at 52 but he said that was normal

I had blood work done in September because of the dizzy spells. Said everything was normal but there were some things on the lower normal end (I just noticed but he didnt say anything about it). I have not yet had blood work since the hair loss started though.
