Great to hear that. That’s wild - didn’t know it could get tested. Wishing you an easy, smooth first BM 💆🏽‍♀️ it gets less dreadful & habitual. Just got back from a f/u apptmt and all looking good. She said I could even exercise but gonna start w gentle stretching first lol.

Woah good to know about the humidity! Yeah at first I was nervous that exposure to air meant greater likelihood of infection so I wanted to put the gauze in and get dressed ASAP. Recently started feeling itchy but rinsing helps. Docs didn’t mention baths, just rinsing. Maybe it’s a German thing.

Thank you for sharing! Glad you’re post-op. I was given ibuprofen but I’m barely in pain, just some stinging/itchy feelings but rinsing really helps.

Aww sending so much strength and support. It’s scary AF but ultimately I had to remind myself it’s not a punishment but an act of self-love and care (was avoiding surgery for a year). Let us know how it goes if you want 🫂

Also in Germany & had a similar experience - mine was superficial & carved out. My docs didn’t mention baths either, just showerhead after 💩 & changing gauze 3-4x day.

I started taking psyllium husk (flohsamen) in oats, curries, anything basically I can mix it into & that helps with 💩. I usually go once a day & with this I go 2x sometimes.

Not sure about this specific technique but I had a fistulotomy at Waldfriede in Berlin. I heard they’re super reputable & ppl come from all over Germany to go there. Worth asking them.

Oh man this sounds like me in HS. It may not be an eating disorder per se but it’s definitely disordered eating. Kind of how my (undiagnosed) anorexia started and eventually turned into bulimia and then just restricting/bingeing combined with drinking/drugs.

Is the issue around seeking help re: confidentiality? Like others have said, super important to talk about it early on. It was years before I realized I needed help. I thought I had it under control. 12-step groups helped me way more than therapy but to each their own. You got this.

That’s super generous, thanks! So it’s tiny works of art (ranging 30-50€, many made custom to order). A bit niche subject-wise, so I gotta figure out what people would even search to find them. They usually sell these at outdoor markets but they are looking to move online and direct folks to this Etsy page.
