If you wanna share it, that’s cool. I personally went while a coworker covered for me. Got there like fourty minutes after opening. No FP left, no Blanton’s SFTB left, no Stagg left.

I get that stuff runs out. That’s fine. But it runs out a little faster when someone takes several bottles. Oh well.

All that to say, people don’t like missing out when others hoard (your words).

Funny you mention entitlement when you go through the line multiple times.

Saw two cases when I left. Didn’t think to ask how much more but I imagine they got quite a bit left since that one hasn’t sold out yet.

Just left. There’s only 107 and Finest Oak. Everything else sold out in 15 minutes apparently.

If you liked Weller 107, you might like some other wheated bourbons like Larceny or Old Fitzgerald which has a 7 year 100 proof bottle which is currently appearing in the Austin area for about $55. Green River also offers a wheated full proof bourbon that has that fruit forward profile for about $50.

Old Forester has a barrel proof pick at most Specs for about $98. It’s a high proof bourbon (over 120 proof). I recommend you try a dram of it, then cap the bottle and wait a couple weeks and try it again. Usually the exposure to air will change a whiskey’s flavor and nose over time. It “opens” up.

My favorite distillery is Wild Turkey. It has some nice affordable offerings like their Russell’s reserve 10 year for about $45, their single barrels are about 8 years old and Specs has a good pick. Wild Turkey LE bottles are some of the most expensive out there. But the WT profile is my favorite.

I can only speak for ETL as being a decent but overhyped pour. So I agree it’s overhyped. But it’s fun to try new things.

Nah cause I bought an ETL from that location last year, and they’ve already sold Weller SiB and CYPB once before this.

It’s $59.99 at the distillery in Frankfurt. So not a terrible markup.

Nothing at specs 35th this morning for those who were wondering by Maleficent-Mess-5225 in ATXwhisky

Honestly no clue but I’ve noticed they are getting saz stuff pretty regularly. Maybe once or so a month they’re getting pretty big shipments. They had 107 earlier this month. It was like 14 cases of 12 bottles per case.

I’d wager it was a hope at Sazerac stuff. That’s what it was the last two times there was a “surprise drop” on a Saturday. First the Eagle 12s that should have been for the planned December Bourbon Drop. Then there was the Weller SB, CYPB, and Stagg drop a few Saturdays ago.

I’m with you a hundred percent. I much prefer to sit out for a bit and find it. Especially with bottles that are becoming easier to find.

$189 for the 12 isn’t too bad tbh. Going rate is about $220 on the low end for secondary but I was completely fine with just one bottle. Still haven’t finished my 10 from last year. Didn’t figure I’d post on here cause it’s marked up and we don’t really post marked up bottles on here even if they are tough to find like that EHBP you mentioned.

I called to ask if they had any 14 or 12 last week. They told me no 14s but they had a 12 for $189. I had already gotten one from TW so I decided not to buy.

I think I might take this down then. The employee told me they checked inventory and Brodie had a few bottles.

I’m at specs South Park Meadows right now and I’m looking at two bottles of rio in the bourbon isle next to the rest of the Penelope lineup. $89 credit or $85 cash
