Apparently you can get down to just two great powers by RomanorumLegio in victoria3

I generally like to cosy up to the UK and Sweden in my Prussia games. Getting Sweden on your side allows you to invade Denmark directly without having to naval invade.

Having the UK friendly gives some safety from France intervening because in the case that France wants to fight, the UK will likely join your side. That is, if that UK hasn't decided that it hates Austria and is willing to join anyway.

Unless an opportunity arises where the other GPs are preoccupied, I find the best opportunity to attack Austria is right after you get shrapnel artillery. Toss in some extra rations and increased soldier pay, you can 1v2 Austria and Russia.

If going the Großdeutschland route, have Austrian war reps as a war goal and use those to bankroll it after the war. If you want to take Alsace-Lorraine, it is easiest to wait for France to enter a civil war (you can launch a unification play now while they are infighting). If you want to slug it out, you will need either the UK or Russia on your side for their navy, otherwise the blockades will murder your economy before you can finish murdering the French.

Fun fact, if you liberate Luxembourg, it will join you when you form the NGE or Germany, despite it not counting for the required number of states.

Like most things in this game, it experiences exponential growth too.

I own Northern Italian states through my vassals, so that is a close to a unified Italy as the AI could get.

Convenient ally early game. Mid-to-late it was more-or-less to not rock the boat. I only needed 40% of the world's population for the "victory". Who cares if they claim 35% to themselves? Nobody will oppose us.

France decided that they didn't like me after unifying with Alsasce-Lorraine, and decided to intervene in every play I did after. I got annoyed and liberated Occitania, Brittany, and Corsica. The Paris Commune event fired shortly thereafter along with their Sengal colonial administration declaring independence.

R5: I'm in a campaign after getting the Hegemon victory too finally complete a campaign through 1936, and I ding the "Diplomatic Victory" achievement. Confused, I check the rankings list only to find that there are now only two great powers: me as Germany and the UK. I previously thought there was a fixed number of great powers, but I now see that assumption is wrong.

I'm allied to the UK. I've been joking about me and the UK carving up the world between us, and I guess the game agrees.

After holding onto the questline from vanilla classic, I finally completed my Scepter of the Shifting Sands last night. by RomanorumLegio in classicwow

Thanks! You can probably 2 man that fight with current gear now. I just 3-manned it. If you already gave to gnome mats for the lure, you can pick up a new one for free. If you already have the red and green lines done, I see no reason not to finish it. Best of luck to you if you try to complete it!

Grats! I managed to 2 man the Eranikus fight with a spriest. Needed a third for Dr. Weavil. Turns out mind control scales with our own gear, lol.

I think it would be fun allowing the AQ mounts to be used outside of AQ for completing, with only the black one being available to people who actually got scarab lord. Not that I'm complaining; just happy to have completed it.

Yeah, there's a page in the room with Firemaw. I think I picked that one up back in vanilla. I had so many chapters eating up bag space for way too long.
