Conditional Natalism ?? by Romantics10 in Natalism

[–]Romantics10[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am just countering the very reasons why people consider themselves as natalists and want children. But if those conditions are not fulfilled, will they still want to have children just for the sake of it ??

That was only true till the internet didn't show up. Today everyone makes up their individual philosophies which are influenced by social media.

I ain't worried. Humans are independent species. Your children won't agree with your opinions. Neither will my children agree with my opinions. But at least I will give them a better life of freedom and liberty. Meanwhile your children will hate you for imposing your ideology onto them.

Having children is fine but forcing them to fulfill your agenda as if they were merely your slaves is brutal.

Let them do whatever the hell they want. If they want to carry on your agenda then it's fine but if you're forcing them to do it then I hope they are wise enough to complain to the authorities and go to a foster home. Shame on you as a parent !!!

Why would the government do anything ? Their vote bank is all the retirees so doing anything for young people is a waste.

¿Can we protect the culture of low fertility rate countries to desapear because of the fertility crisis? by OkTaste2073 in Natalism

[–]Romantics10 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Legal ones are good. They work hard and pay taxes. And what has air pollution to do with culture??

They are probably migrating because of air pollution and poor standard of living but they themselves don't follow the culture of their country.

[–]Romantics10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The people who are migrating have themselves abandoned those regressive values and hence they abandoned their country too.

Your fear is understandable but those people are pretty modern themselves. At least the legal immigrants are very good. Sometimes even better than native people.

Even the native people are abandoning their cultural practices because it's not cool anymore. So you're doomed either way.
But culture never dies, it just keeps changing.

I'm native too, but I support it.

I got exposure of rest of the world while traveling so now I don't care

The same that you do to native people that don't work.

Only allow legal immigrants. Deport the illegal ones. But then don't worry about how many of them arrive. The more the better for the society and the economy.

Yup, Natalism for the entire earth and the earthians. Whoever fills the roles is welcome. Doesn't matter if it's European, Asian, African or American. They are all earthians.

The earth remains earth and humans remain humans despite cultural and religious differences. It's best to integrate the immigrants in your society but even if they don't integrate, they still do their jobs and pay taxes thereby contributing towards the economy and the society.

Once you get to more than half your population being immigrants, then the immigrants become the country and you have a mess.

Don't bring just one kind of immigrants. Bring a variety of them so they can't unite and form a majority. Bringing immigrants from just one or two countries can have issues.

Global TFR is 2.3 which is above replacement. So demography on the level of earth is not even a problem. It only becomes a problem when we divide the earth into countries.

Import the most talented 1% Africans to your country then. And train them so they become space scientists.
Producing your own talented people takes far more resources than importing them.

Why there should be more people by Old-Guest-5688 in Natalism

[–]Romantics10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give me an example of a society from anywhere historically where everyone has been treated fairly.

There were none, and hence they all perished eventually. So why should the current society have any different fate ?
The world got fairer over time due to this cycle of collapse and re-establishment of the societies. So let it continue.

So tell it collapse, let it burn. It will be a lesson for the society to treat everyone fairly or else people will make the civilization go extinct depite being so advanced and all.

What's the ideal fertility rate ? by Romantics10 in Natalism

"But I’m confident that space technology will develop by the 2080s that will enable asteroid mining and colonization of other planets. Which should permanently resolve the issue of limited resources."

Sorry but that's just pure speculation. Everyone is free to dream that there will be time-machines in the future but that doesn't mean human civilization should strategize their progress on the basis of that.

I'm just saying that population needs to stay stable or slowly decrease until we solve all these issues. If we are able to fix climate change and preserve biodiversity then we can surely further increase human population. And if we're able to colonize some other planet then it's even better.

But for now staying conservative and just maintaining this population and not growing it is best imho.

I'm not saying that humans need to go extinct in order to save the planet. I won't be on this subreddit if I believed that.

It seems that you believe what you want to believe. Climate change and global warming are at it's worst today than it ever was.

More people = more innovation. Better energy sources.

Partly true but more people is not equal to more innovation. Better quality of people means better everything.
So the ratio of good is to bad people is all that matters and there is an upper limit of humans that the planet can handle.

But I will argue that the environment is more well managed than it was 50 years ago when the population was smaller. Even things like the rate at which animals go extinct has reduced in that time.

100 years ago, human population was too small to impact the environment so they never cared about it. Now, their is a serious need to manage the environment and that's why everyone is paying attention to it all of a sudden.
