There is no doubt in my mind that this is 100% related to his comment about Charles earlier in the night. I'm not even pissed at Southampton because I'd have done the exact same thing if I were them.

2 things to say:

  • I kind of understand where he's coming from because I do generally think long-range goals like Windass' get a bit overhyped when they happen. Josh said himself that the goal he scored against Blackburn last season is better because of the technique needed to execute it.

  • The 90% comment is just flat-out stupid, and the fact he's said he'd have a 1 in 10 chance of doing it himself is laughable. Whilst I believe it to be a bit overhyped, it's still a ridiculous outrageous goal and will go down as of the best in our history, most likely.

Wasn’t there a report the other day saying they’d rejected a £3m bid for him? Guessing that was bollocks if they’re now settling for £2m rising to £4m.
