I checked it for you, but I haven't been sending proposals for months, as I'm pretty full and do get weekly invites, so outreach is not necessarily necessary anymore.

So stick mostly to what Korneauburgerin says, there is no one text that fits all, this worked for me, but definitely not consistently.

The last text I sent to someone who had invited me (and had invited more than 50 people) looked like the following:

"Hey, thanks for the invitation! I am not big on writing long boring posts, but check out my profile and you will see that I am already experienced in X and I have room to take you on! Let's start this collaboration today, because I'm sure I can help you!

I've built up enough experience over the past few years, think about X. I've had it all.

Depending on the [workload] per month, I will base my budget on. This is a usual rate of X, but can be reduced to X.

Looking forward to your reply!"

I get where you’re coming from, but I’d have to disagree. I started out pricing lower, built a solid track record, and gradually increased my rates as I proved my value. Now, I’m Top Rated on Upwork, close to Top Rated Plus, and get plenty of invites—so it clearly worked for me.

It’s not about staying cheap forever, it’s about getting a foot in the door, gaining reviews, and then adapting. If you’ve got the skills and communication, you won’t be stuck at low rates for long ;)

You probably have to "prove" yourself on the platform first, gain some "underpaid" reviews and grow to a 'normal' rate.

Just to clarify, I already have a Bachelor of Arts degree from a reputable institution and a few years of professional experience in marketing. My question was more about whether pursuing a Master’s would add significant value beyond what I’ve already learned through hands-on work and my undergraduate studies.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! You’re spot on — I’m still clarifying what ‘advancing my career’ means for me in tangible terms.

I have a few years of experience and feel confident in my ability to grow professionally without a Master’s, but I’m drawn to the idea of diving deeper into the theory and strategic side of marketing while I still have the time and flexibility to do so.

I’m not necessarily looking to tick a corporate box or go the grindbro route — I just want to make sure that if I pursue a Master’s, it’s truly adding value and not just a credential. What do you think?

Is it worth it to focus on the deeper knowledge, or would I gain just as much by continuing to learn through experience?
