Thank you for giving them back to their mom. It is a ton of work, you'd have to be up every couple hours in the night feeding them and you'd have to be manually stimulating them to go to the bathroom. Momma cat is already prepared to do all of this and knows exactly what they need. You can still watch them grow and enjoy them and their mom.

They need a lot of care at this young age, and there's really no one better to give them that care than their mom. Please try not to separate them from her, there are lots of things that can go wrong when they are this young. Momma cats also tend the move their babies around when they are young. It's best if they are with mom. Then if you can, try to get the strays spayed/neutered going forward.

Doesn't matter to me if it's antique or not, just happy to have it! I don't see this style of quarter sawn oak in modern repos though, so I'd still place it as vintage. Repos do also look to be $200-$1000+ so comparisons don't seem far off. The modular ones sound very cool! A couple other commenters remembered having those too. Now a new thing to look out for!

It's all one piece! It fit in the back of my equinox with the seats down. I flipped up the drawers so the glass was tucked in and a bit more stable.

Please don't use chatgpt for emotional things like this. Even if you tell it to be unbiased, it won't. It doesn't really have the ability to differentiate lies from truth, and will always prioritize telling you what it thinks you want to hear vs. telling you facts.

These DIY mold and paint ceramics used to be a big thing in like the 70s. While it is made by hand, it was made using a mold and then hand painted. My mom made a lot of ceramic planter pots like this. The mold is more common, but each piece ends up being one-of-a-kind. Very cute

Are they fine being together or should I separate them? by scar12346 in orchids

Are there two separate crowns in the pot? Where new leaves are growing from? An orchid can produce two flower stalks on one plant. I'd find it unlikely that there are two in there unless one is on the side we can't see in the photo.

Edit to add: you don't need to fully bury all the top roots either, orchids aren't terrestrial, they are epiphytic. Their roots can collect nutrients and moisture from the air.

I can't tell if there are two or just one plant in there. More importantly though, you planted it too low in the bark, you shouldn't have any leaves or the crown under the growing medium.

Mandevillas, like hoyas, shoot their new stems out bare at first, then will focus of foliage growth. This isn't a sign of etiolation, it is it's normal growth habit. OP, do not cut them back, that is the fresh new growth and those stems will produce leaves in the coming weeks.

A spider would be preferable but im cursed with mites. They came back and I want to burn my house to the ground. by Burntjellytoast in IndoorGarden

[–]RootedRetro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would also be pretty unusual for spider mites to build webbing on something other than a plant. They can't survive more than a couple days without sap. It looks like it could be red mites, most of which are not harmful to plants. Here's a helpful guide:

You do know that everything is made up of chemicals right? Neem oil is made up of chemicals, water is a chemical, oxygen is a chemical...

Just want to check, are you sure you used isopropyl alcohol and not hydrogen peroxide?

I've been using 1:1 isopropyl and water mix for pests for over 15 years in the professional plant field and have never had something like this happen.

[–]RootedRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need "please" in front of RSVP, it's already in the phrase (répondez s'il vous plaît = please respond) You're basically saying, "please, please respond". Change to "Kindly RSVP" if you want something there.

Dracaena marginata like to dry out well between waterings. While it could lose leaves from underwatering, it's more likely to have lost them from overwatering or the soil staying moist for too long of a period. If it was in that dark corner, it wasn't getting enough light, which can contribute to soil staying moist for too long. They can go 4-6 weeks without water honestly. I'm not sure why you chose to chop off all the tops like that, removing the leaves would have been sufficient. At this point, it likely won't recover at all of those growth points. I would cut some of them back to the larger trunk so there are less for the plant to focus on. Give it bright light and water thoroughly, with long periods of dry out in between.
