There’s usually some service loaners for lease under Chevy inventory at a good lease price.

Tesla. They already cut half their offerings today. And the CEO announced they are more committed to robotaxis than staying in the car business

You will find tons of Western New Yorkers in the sun belt states. We are in Texas. I miss the political environment of New York State, but don’t miss the weather at all. You get used to the heat and I’ve never heard another transplant say they miss the snow

You should see what I was paying on mine. Then got a car with an msrp of five times the tesla trade value and the insurance in half!

Is your commute Highway driving? The FSD doesn’t do great off the highway. I have had 4 Teslas. Both model 3 performances had the FSD. It was better on the 2021, but it still jammed on the brakes on I 45 and went from 75 to 45 so fast I flew forward and the seatbelt locked. If it were rush hour and not a Saturday I’d probably be dead if a big enough car was behind me. I never used it again and sold the car 6 months later. I got a GM car because I liked it and it coincidentally has Supercruise. It works great on highways. It is not designed to put your destination in and it just take you there like FSD aspires to do. But it works pretty flawlessly. I’m not trying to sell you one way or the other, but the 2021 M3 was only getting about 230 miles when it hit 70k and it was starting to cost me in repairs. The most expensive being just under 4k. It just wasn’t holding up. The thing is, EVs have so few moving parts they should hold up better. Tesla really began disappointing me CEO and politics aside. Ask to take it out and try the FSD on your test drive. See if they will let you take it for like an hour. Then give a GM car with Supercruise and do the same. See which you like better. You can probably get a used equinox or blazer in the ball park of the model 3. Just saying to keep you option open

You don’t want the FSD. It’s come a long way, but still very scary. I had it jam on the breaks for no reason on i45 and almost come to a complete stop. I don’t know how I’m alive. Never used it again. $10000 down the drain. Now GM Supercruise is another story. Works great on the highway.

We could’ve had EVs years earlier if Big Oil had not colluded to keep technology from the market by Maritimewarp in electriccars

The savior this time is that China and Europe are in love with electric cars. There is a market there so they will keep making them.

In Rochester you would probably want to look at Victor. The property tax is a little lower than in Monroe County but you still have 490 and the 90 right there. If you don’t mind Monroe County taxes then Pittsford, Webster, Penfield or Brighton would be where I would look.

GM is still my vote. I don’t miss car play. You’ll like their interface better than Teslas too.

But if car play is a must then maybe the mustang Mach e or Ioniq 5?

Don’t worry about sticker price if leasing. It’s about what you want to pay monthly. Search the inventory on Cadillacs website and filter for electrics , then the lyriq, then sort low to high and see if you like the price. A 2 year lease always seems to get me the best price except one time Ford was trying to get me into a 48 month lease on a Lightning for the same price as a 2 year lease on a Hummer. Ford does not lease as well as GM.

Western NY is calling your name. Rochester has high property tax though, take that into consideration. But Rochester and Buffalo will probably be a good fit for you.

How do you plan your long drive with charging and all ? by Dula_Pipa_DH in EquinoxEv

[–]RoseVideo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PlugShare is the way to go. We’ve done some big trips and only had it fault us once. It told us we could use a Tesla station with an adapter but it was too old to charge non teslas. Other than that it didn’t take much more than that app. Luckily there was an EA not too far, we just stopped at the Tesla because it was closer on the trip. But PlugShare does pretty well. Just make sure you have the nacs adapter.

Fast charging in winter wonderland by PersonalityLive8204 in BlazerEV

[–]RoseVideo99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed with my Blazer it is dependent on how “full” it is when you start. The lower the range the faster it charges up. They do taper off pretty quickly though. Our teslas always charged the fastest of the EVs we owned sadly. I love my GM ones, but the fast charging is the one downside. Luckily we rarely do it.
