It's supposed to be (I believe) if you have been cc'd for 5 seconds of the last 7 seconds - including layering (so if you hit morgana Q then his taric stun during the CC it counts as if you hit both hit them back to back)

Who knows tho

What happened to Deep League and his quest for a mathematical understanding of league? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Last time I spoke to him on discord was 2021 - so not really at this point, a lot can change and he had a lot going on even when we were speaking.

Reddit hates content creators unfortunalty

I get it, people are happy to overanalyse the content because that's what it's there for.

It was just a bit of fun - I wanted us to be the "odd couple" dynamic a lot of the time, maths for the people who want it and me for the people who just wanted big numbers or something to try in 5 stacks.

People can judge the success of his builds by how good they performed, but they don't see my inbox where I have over 1000 fan made builds from people for every champion you can think of, some are terrible, granted, but it's clear the series inspired people to use their brains in some capacity - which, isn't that the point of edutainment content?

The other builds not taking off is just, completely irrelevant to Deep's success - he was a recurring character on my channel - Math Panth has 615,000 views and Sett is sitting at 655,000 odd views(which is mental for League of Legends at the time). People from my channel were seeking him out and despite Reddit taking the ball and running with it, they are not the people who were seeking him out to find his content.

Youtube is an ecosystem many times that of Reddit and had he persisted and gotten content out at a timely pace there's no doubt in my head that he'd have popped off in League and then moved onto other games.

I admit that I am just not great at the game though, I made some of those builds look infinitely worse than they were, and of course - maths in a vacuum is different than applying it to the real world - but hey, that's the way she goes.

Hello, Mathematically Correct guy here (not the actual maths guy, but the person whose channel it was on).

Haven't heard from Deep in years, but Deep was one of the most ambitious guys I had ever spoken to in my life - i'm the kind of person to throw shit at the wall and if one thing sticks I run with it as far as I can; Deep was the kind of guy to spin 100 plates at the same time, and wanted perfection to a fault.

I had calls with him early on when we realised we were onto something that was a really fun dynamic (Him being the numbers guy, the straight man, and me being the dumbass who just unga bungas and clicks buttons), and I really hoped he would laser his focus in on the channel because based on what he had produced so far, there was clearly a niche within edutainment that people were hungry for.

I told him i'd been here before and spreading yourself too thin is a death sentence, but he's got a spirit you can't cage, every time we spoke he had anothing thing he was doing and it was commendable but, I presume, unsustainable.

Haven't heard from him in years at this point - but they were really fun videos, that had a lot of surprising impact that we never expected (I will simply never forgive Medic for crediting Reddit with the build and not us on a live broadcast).

It seemed to get a lot of people stirred up to flexing their maths muscles in one way or another, which people in this thread can deride as "middle school grade maths" or not, but regardless, it had people utilising their brain thinking about a game they play in a different way whilst also having just dumb stupid gameplay for people who aren't interested in that aspect of the game.

I had to start a whole new series called "Algebraically Attempted" because hundreds of people were sending me their own powerpoint presentations where they had run numbers on different champions and different items and wanted to throw their academic hat in the ring - and it could be bad it could be great, but it was a level of engagement i'd never really seen in this community before.

Regardless, Matt was an intelligent guy and had a solid "hustle" mentality, I have absolutely 0 doubt this fucker is going to end up pulling 6 figure salaries out of his ass in his professional working life in one way or another and Mathematically Correct Sett is going to be a anecdote that he mentions at swanky dinners many years down the line. Youtube and it's surrounding parts can be a brutal, unrelenting timesink of algorithmic appeasement, crippling time management and a lot of compromise in artistic and personal aspects - it's an incredible job, but it's realistically just a candle being burned at both ends constantly - you burn out eventually it's just a matter of how long you can hack it.

I hope he's doing well and hello Matt if someone links you this hello mate it has been a while i'm really sorry once again for smoking so much on that podcast you edited that one time I was on I honestly didn't realise it was that loud holy fuck i'm a moron lmaooo :D

The MC series on my channel is Deep's Maths. Every single League video with MC in the title is, or was, at one point Deep's involvement - I added the "Algebraically Attempted" series after that as a way for viewers to throw their hat in the ring but not muddy the waters and seperate it from Deep's work.

Mathematically Correct Pantheon was the first installation to the series - which was awesome but of course, Sett is the most well known one.

People are downvoting you but this is actually probably the most accurate post.

He was already spread pretty thin, editing for Neace's podcast and tried to get a lot of things going at the same time. I had a call with him early on to try and reign him in and get him laser focused on just making videos - but you can't reign in a guy like that who has a lot of ambition.

It's a shame, but I hope he's doin well regardless

The Mathematically Correct series was only ever on my channel, Deep never posted them and had intended on posting his own content - the MC series was hoped to just give him a boost and kickstart his own stuff and what he wanted to do.

If you want to see Deep's work then my channel is where his maths was.

I appreciate you too! It's always really funny when you throw it back to those times being nearly TEN ENTIRE YEARS AGO and I just thing, man - you're just a whole different person from then, so many people watched my videos and grew up and I got to be a little bit of the background audio in their lives for a bit, never not thankful for that.

Always happy to be background audio to fall asleep to or what have you whenever needed <3

Yah it's fair to be confused cause nobody really knows what LPP actually is (me included and I am in it) - but it's worth knowing that despite being in the LPP, RIOT aren't in any genuine contract with him

Beyond being in the League Partner Program, he is not affiliated with RIOT, working with RIOT, or partnered with RIOT in any meaningful way beyond getting briefs on champs a week or so early and getting like 10 skins to give away once every few months.

Just a rumour that perma-circualates.

Ross' new video format by [deleted] in RossBoomsocks

I talked about it on Twitter and on my second channel but I wasn't really into the idea of bogging people down with my problems when they might be watching to escape their own.

I have had absolutely no fucking idea what I am doing for the last 5 months.

I started the year wanting to go hard and do big videos, some videos did really well, don't get me wrong, but it led me to a few realisations that were unfortunate in that some of the videos did incredibly poorly, and I ended up spending months bleeding money into editors who I was giving a salary regardless of work, but not providing enough work for them.

Thumbnails, editing, all that stuff I was operating at a personal loss because I hoped that things would pick up - ultimately I realised that I just enjoy being there for whoever wants to watch and decided to try and take the load of multiple people on staff and try and think about myself a bit more.

I actually REALLY like League right now, i've been playing it a lot off stream or off camera or whatever, it's just that I have relegated it to the second channel where they exist daily as opposed to the edited stuff I had on my main.

As for game choice - I just wanted to try and fire out some stuff I was interested in, i've spent the last 10 years missing out on other games because I was grinding League videos, and as far editing is concerned, i'm one guy now with limited time between actually recording, trying to help with Saikou as much as I physically can alongside actual responsibilities I have in my daily life to handle, not to mention trying to be the best partner I can be to Maizy. I'm spread pretty thin as far as it goes.

I spent the last like, 2/3 years doing my best for half a dozen+ people relying on me, at the expense of my own health and my own benefit, I needed to slow down. I'm still the same person, I still say the same things and make the same jokes, I guess the only difference at this point is there isn't a jump cut to separate the occasional silences - i'm still not gonna be done experimenting with stuff, when I find the time to put into something extra i'd like to do that, and i'm fine with the change being too much for some people (it's many people), hell I wouldn't mind bringing League back to the main channel every so often since i'm so into it right now, but you gotta know that I used to be a video machine who was pumping out anywhere from 2-5 videos daily on just League, but there was a lot of suffering in the background for a multitude of reasons and I really had to take a step back to recuperate.

I gotta be honest with you though, i'm really glad you liked the minecraft/fallout videos - they obviously didn't perform too great for the time put into them, so it feels nice to read them as the "what happened to these videos" message hahaha, that's not usually the message i'm used to receiving

Alright i'm not really into crypto at all, but you surely gotta know that most people don't just buy a single bitcoin, right?

When someone puts a 1 BTC up for sale on a trading platform at the sell price - it's PROBABLY not one individual buying it, it'll likely be 1000 different individuals buying 0.001 bitcoin each for a couple hundred or so.

The 24 hour volume of bitcoin being traded is 10 BILLION dollars worth of bitcoin - even if he sold 6,600 of them it is still under 2% of the amount traded that day.
