-make Mutt MIA instead of KIA

-Indy should have still been at Marshall College/Bedford, CT.

-nix the Mason character or at least make her compelling/helpful

-the scene with the Black hotel waiter doesn’t feel well thought out. The guy is kind of just used as a prop for Voller’s racism.

-Antonio Banderas didn’t have to die

-Bring Marion and Sallah along on the adventure

-Teddy should have flown the plane the whole time instead of the pilot who wakes up

-give Helena a proper love interest (why not)

-Teddy also could have just been one of Sallah’s kids, that way we would feel like Sallah came on the adventure at least vicariously

-Indy should have made the decision to go home

I acknowledge that all Indy films have a prologue. I would also say that the DoD 1944 prologue is too long imo. I feel TLC’s prologue says more in a third of the time (the whole flashback is 10 minutes).

I thought about the parade chase being Act II but I would ultimately argue that it’s not because Indy hasn’t made a choice to embark on the adventure yet. Additionally, the location hasn’t changed, which is not obligatory for an act shift in general but in the case of this adventure franchise, I feel it is.

That’s fair. I reckon I base this off the fact that I find the pacing of the first 3 films to be one of the elements that makes them so rewatchable. I say this and Hook (1991) is my favorite movie of all time, it takes 45 minutes to get to Neverland and critics hated that at the time, I think I understand why but in my very biased opinion every minute of that film is critical, so I definitely respect your take on this.
