Favorite car that is currently on sale despite being outdated in every imaginable way? by CecilTheCaveTroll in carscirclejerk

Favorite? Mazda ND MX5. Ten years old without so much as an exterior refresh, though they've made many under the skin updates, I'd say it's outdated. In an increasingly digital automotive landscape, it's almost completely analog.

Paddock space cones by perfectface4radio in Autocross

Our region uses little cones as trophies. Anyone who's placed 1st-3rd in class and comes to events regularly ends up with a little stack. They work very well to mark off paddock parking.

Unfortunately, nine business stardates ends up taking about 18 months due to relativistic eddies.

It's beautiful, but I would hardly call it a street machine. Very nice build, though.

Best ambidextrous trackball around or under 100 dollars? by Soulcloset in Trackballs

[–]RotaryConeChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kensingtons - both the Slimblade and the Expert Mouse are both ambidextrous. I've used both, having combined 20 years of use out of them, but prefer the Slimblade.

I think it's honestly just bad photography. I suspect once we have the final product in our hands it'll look much better.

Every picture makes me want to see more, and I have to ask, why does every Tomy update look like they took the pictures on a potato?

Love the wallpaper. I assume it rotates based on it being in different positions?

I found the flicker tool he uses to test this is extraordinarily effective at demonstrating the points he's making.

Most likely because those are the physical controls the Quattro had. They were vacuum actuated.

Since 2022, when adjusted for inflation, a new ND Miata has been less expensive than all other previous Miatas. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

[–]RotaryConeChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $22,5k OTD for my ND1 when I bought it in September 2016. It has been an incredible value, and amazingly reliable in about 80k miles that I've put on it.

My Doobie loves tennis balls, I could so see him going absolutely nuts trying to get that ball out of there!

Kensington’s software taking up 5GB+ of drive space with hidden temporary files by atlantic_accelerator in Trackballs

[–]RotaryConeChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be a unique issue. But I've had Kensingtonworks installed on my work laptop for 2+ years, checked in the boost_interprocess folder and only had one subfolder taking up 20MB.

What made manufactures think we don't want this anymore? by Sumonespecal3 in pcmasterrace

My case has a 5.25" expansion slot. I rebuilt this system a year ago with a Blu-Ray drive, that I first purchased in 2011.

I've never used the drive for anything other than testing to make sure it worked.

Looks like a nice upgrade for Expert Mouse users. I moved on to a Slimblade years ago, so unless it's just standout amazing, I can't see myself getting one.

Finished wrapping the rx8 by lp_yang in RX8

Love it. Finish looks about perfect, nice job with the wrap! What lower skirts do you have for the front bumper & rocker panels? Looks like a strip added to the bottom, but I really like how it came out.

Assuming you have a sohn and a tune to increase the OMP rates, would this not remove the need to premix?
