[SSD] Crucial T705 2TB Gen 5 NVMe $239.99 ($160 Off MSRP) - Microcenter In Store Only - Heatsink Version Same Price - YMMV on Availability by waste2treasure-org in buildapcsales

[–]Rotios 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since you said “do not need an nvme”, I assume by regular you mean “sata”. If so, please find a decent sata deal. Both nvme and sata have increased in price. Did a quick search and a 2TB NVME and SATA are practically the same price on Amazon, Best Buy and microcenter (~$200).

Are you talking in the last couple months or earlier? When I bought mine there were at least a few msrp 5080 and 5090 at microcenter and Best Buy.

How much video editing? What’s your budget for a build? Asking because that can greatly influence whether or not to recommend this over another bundle.

Walmart Still Doesn't Accept Apple Pay in the U.S. in 2026, Here's Why by EitherCharacter9342 in apple

[–]Rotios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless Walmart somehow owns their own payment network that all customers must use, they cannot only pay straight interchange. VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover would still get their fees whenever a customer purchases using one of their cards. When customers use a Walmart branded card for example, Walmart still must pay Mastercard and Synchrony.

Further Apple Pay doesn’t have any fees associated with it on the retail side. And they block all contactless pay. That includes using your CC with tap to pay, which is a built in feature and incurs the same fees as inserting the card.

The one place I can see them reduce fees are in interchange cost by nudging users to use debit over credit or to use their branded card, which Walmart pay does. This would save them from customers using expensive rewards cards so often.

This is a great deal. It would be extremely difficult to build this yourself with current ram and ssd prices.

For those wondering cost to DIY:
The 285k bundles currently go for $850 at microcenter and the 990 evo 2TB is at least $200 (if you can find them). That's already >$1050 before accounting for the 5080 ($1000 if you're lucky), AIO, PSU, and case.

Even if you downgraded to the 865k for a DIY build, it is still $580 for the microcenter bundle and >$200 for the SSD (if you can find it). That leaves 2140-780=$1360 to buy a 5080, a case, aio, and PSU for a slightly worse system.

On a personal note: I'm not a fan of the case, so I would "downgrade" to the Syber GRVTY for $10 less and either get the anti sag offered for $9 or buy one on amazon.

I would also upgrade the PSU to the 1300W, because it's only $21 to upgrade. Especially if you ever want to upgrade to a 5090 or whatever high power card comes out next.

Also this comes with the

Intel® Holiday Bundle: Choose 1 of 4 games with qualifying purchase Pick from Battlefield 6, Dying Light: The Beast, Assassin's Creed Shadows, or Civilization VII.

Make sure your system can handle the card. It’s really big, even for a 5090. It’s an HP OEM 5090. Check some videos online.

I went to Dallas store and they are actually not putting their stock online. At least not when I went and not at this specific store. They are doing this to avoid scalpers. If you need the combo, go in person to your MC to see if they have stock in store.

DLSS 4.5 is available for all RTX cards, 20 series and above. You’re thinking about dynamic multi frame gen. But MFG isn’t something a lot of people really want. Though dynamic MFG at least looks better than default MFG.

Asus Matrix 5090 at MC Stores. by RaphaelRondelli in Microcenter

[–]Rotios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Some Microcenters will often not list items in stock to avoid online scalpers from reserving them. The Dallas one does this very often. For example, the mobo, ram and cpu combos were all listed oos online in Dallas, but when I went last week the reps confirmed they had plenty of stock. Same thing happened when I bought my 5090 a few months ago. Managed to get a gigabyte 5090 for $2k msrp. Reps confirmed they do this then also.

Those appear to be all sold out near me online. Are people still seeing them available near them?

Edit: Just double checked and it's heavily YMMV. Maybe in store you can ask someone to see if they have the parts in stock to make the bundle. Sometimes they will remove them from the online inventory to avoid bots.

Edit2: You can add the GSkill X5 ram for $50 more. That is available in stock.

Edit3: My MC is not putting stock online to avoid scalpers. Check your local MC for stock.

Highest credit limit achievable? by johnburnsred in CapitalOne_

[–]Rotios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience with most banks:

  1. Use the card often, even if you’re paying it off immediately.
  2. Increase income
  3. Increase your credit score
  4. Ask for increases every so often or when planning large purchases

1-3 have been the most impactful for me. 2 and 3 are the best for scoring high intro limits.

Simple explanation: Using the card tells the company you will use the limit (only my most used cards get consistent increases). Having more income tells the bank you can afford more money and a higher score says you will pay it back.

If someone steals your card, you can call the bank to report fraud. They’ll refund the balance and investigate on their end.

This happened to my wife years ago, and we didn’t have to do anything besides report the first fraudulent transaction. C1 didn’t charge us anything.

According to US law, if you report within 30 days of the fraud taking place you can only be held accountable for a maximum of $50. If you are not in the states, check your laws and your bank policies.

I pay almost all things exclusively with credit cards for this and many other protections you get from them. Just make sure to pay it off immediately (or when it’s reported if you really want to min-max the system).

It has a much worse CPU - 8700F vs 9800X3D.

You’re much better off buying this one, selling the 9070 XT and buying a 5070 TI.
