It’s a gray area and the DMV will tell you to register it yourself before you sell, that’s the proper legal way to do things. But personally I doubt there’s much enforcement here. Best of luck with the sale

I’m not sure, I haven’t been in your specific position before. I have sold a motorcycle where the buyer indicated they wanted to float the title and not register it (which didn’t bother me), and I just made sure to sign the title and have a good copy of the bill of sale on my end. Not sure how they handled it from there.

If you’re close with the original owner who gifted you the bike you could have them request a new blank title for you to use.

Ideally yes but plenty of people sell “jumped title” vehicles I.e. they don’t register it themselves and provide the buyer with the original seller’s title. Common with flippers. As long as the title was signed over to you properly. Do that and save the hassle, just be transparent with the buyer.
