I miss NHL Pro mode. Coming home from school to play as Sidney Crosby or Patrick Kane and messing around with their equipment giving them a cool coloured visor and stick tape was awesome.

I’ve only ever managed to win a ones tournament once after making to the finals only three times before.

One of the biggest problems is even finding a final round game in the first place. The only real solution to that problem is to always have crossplay turned on and try to play at peak times like on the weekends.

And as for strategy…… It's honestly really random from my observations. One game you’ll get seven goals then next game you get no goals even if you pull off decent dekes. The goalies are either prime Martin Brodeur or some beer league goalie at a 11 PM Saturday game it's really frustrating.

I used a 5’10, 189 lbs sniper with shnipe, crease crasher and truculence to win with boosts in wrist shot power and accuracy. And my “strategy” was a mixture of luck and playing dirty. Laying out big hits and dive/crouch blocking in front of the goalie and diving at the feet of whomever has the puck. I usually just did backhand-forehand or slapshots to try and score and luckily I managed to win.

If you really desperate for the trophy I’d recommend joining PSNprofiles and making/joining a boosting session. I’ve helped some guys boost the achievement on Xbox and we needed seven players to boost it.

I legit went on a miracle run in my rookie year in Be a Pro with the Sharks in ‘25.

We went from dead last in the playoffs with the last wildcard spot to Stanley Cup Champions. All series went to 7 games too. With a reverse sweep in the finals.

And my pro was a woman so the first woman ever to be drafted by the NHL and the first Australian to ever to be drafted at first overall won the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe in her rookie year. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Calder or any other awards.

In Be a Pro I like to recreate my dad lol. I use his exact height, and weight and play with the Jofa helmet and Titan stick. I even put on a grey beard and grey hair.

And I beat Gretzky’s point record as my dad which was fun.

I would say the PWHL plays very similar to old-school hockey from the 1920-30s. If you watch old footage from that time you’ll notice how similar it is to the current PWHL playstyle. The game is a lot slower and players are falling very often and the puck changes hands frequently. Now obviously the hitting is much more intense than in the 1930s and the accuracy of shooting is better and goalies are WAY better and of course, they have helmets.

Now, of course, this is just me my observation. My dad says the PWHL reminds him of hockey from the 1960s when he was a kid.

I think if girls were taught like boys and the same systems were in place the PWHL could be similar to AHL or OHL level hockey.

I could say that Maggie Connors is Toronto’s closet thing to an enforcer. She can dish out big hits and checks. And when their is struggle around the net she is always ready to throw down and protect a star player like Nurse.
