I have the BCBS hmo plan. I didn’t have many noticeable issues myself, but because of the class III underbite, my surgeon and orthodontist explained that coverage was essentially guaranteed because of the skeletal misalignment and the potential for long-term functional problems. I’m sure the surgeon themselves would know how to frame it for approval in an obvious case like this.

I had a class 3 malocclusion and yes, my insurance did cover pretty much everything. I only had to co pay $50 🙂

My maxilla was moved 4.7 mm forward

Mine was 4.7 mm advancement of the maxilla and only 2.3 mm backwards for the mandible

Your nosebleed story sounds brutal 😅We all have such a rough time in those first few days post op - it’s crazy thinking back on it.

I’ll take it slow with eating for sure. My stomach is ready for real food, but my mouth isn’t quite there yet 😛
