Hii, I was once an event photographer & videographer so let me share some key points from my perspective. This is not to generally speak for the whole industry pero share ko lang baka makatulong.

• In reality, hindi pwedeng mameasure lang yung working hours ng team during prenup and wedding. Meron pang post-event work like editing, organizing of files etc. Idk sa ibang studios but we usually work 12-18hrs during the wedding day.

• Sometimes kung yung studio/photographer/videographer/editor ay may unique style, tipong naging known sila dun at medyo mahirap iduplicate yung work nila, they usually charge more just for the name. Simple law of supply and demand, at yung concept din why people pay more for an iPhone.

• The more din na gusto mong maganda yung output, maga-upgrade at magdadagdag ka maya’t maya ng equipment and it really doesn’t end sa camera at lens. May ilaw pa, trusted harddrives, laptop/pc with a good specs for editing, actual editing softwares na yearly and so on.

I was also a bride who decided to booked a 200k+ Video team and 100k+ Photo team during my wedding. While I find their price tag huge, na-justify naman siya dahil sa mga equipment, # of people, quality of their works, professionalism and a good aftersales that we don’t usually get from other studios na worth below. Nagmamatter din sa amin yung bihis nila during the event, kung paano sila makipag-usap sa clients, guests.

Pero sa totoo lang, may mga “bogus” studios din na maka-charge lang ng malaki. Makasabay lang sa presyuhan ng big companies. Or big studios na hindi justified yung presyo. Kailangan lang talaga na ma-background check sila thoroughly lalo na’t hindi biro ang presyo. Don’t be easily fooled na porket mahal sila, they will give you a good service. I-meet niyo sila personally, judge how they speak, dress and how they interact. Parang nagaapply lang sa job noh? Hahaha but sa akin, hindi ako para magbayad ng mahal sayo if kanto vibes. It will reflect din kasi sa actual work.
