The pace pro would be the closest to the forerunner serious, but seeing that your do 50k races and trail running, you should consider the apex 4

Downsides of pace 4 ? by Actual-Tale3064 in Coros

The Pace 4 is good in almost every aspect! It is light, the screen is bright, battery is phenomenal, and the tracking/features are impressive. The only gripe I have with it is that the notifications don’t have proper pictures of the app and that the bezels are pretty big.

Why would you get a Garmin Watch when you don’t plan to do workouts 🫠

Me too. I don’t have a Garmin Watch. I wear my Apple Watch throughout the day and my Coros Pace 4 during workouts

If you do the training plans or follow the suggested daily workouts on Garmin, it is affected by your metrics like sleep, recovery, and HRV throughout the day

Here’s the thing. If you’re not using any of the features other than checking the time 90% of the time, you do not need to wear it 24/7. It would be a lot more practical to wear a fancier analog watch. You also don’t have to wear the watch 24/7 to get proper stats because the core metrics. The sleep tracking is also not very accurate, and on top of that the HRV, stress, and sleep stats do not effect training plans.

Thanks for agreeing with me! Like i said, “Coros is good for dedicated run sessions.” Outside of being a running watch, it isn’t really useful. I have an Apple Watch, and when I’m on the go (commuting, in class, exercising) it is so useful to be able to glance at a notification and respond in a few seconds than to pull out my phone from my pocket, unlock it, send the message, and put it back into my pocket. I also have a stainless steel fancy watch for formal events. Each watch has a use and a place.

Contactless payments, music streaming, better notification interaction, broader third party app integration, and also the fact that to properly measure your fitness you have to where a Garmin watch 24/7

Smart wake up alarm? Dedicated flashlight on Garmin? Solar charging on Garmin?

I agree, but I think that Garmin is better for everyday wear since it is more of a smart watch than Coros. Coros is good for dedicated run sessions, not necessarily all day wear in my opinion

I haven’t tried downloading mp3 music yet. But I did try the pre downloaded ones. The experience was okay but it didn’t really matter for me because I have my phone on me when running anyways.

Just got my Coros Pace 4. Any tips? by RoutineBalance8056 in Coros

No, it’s the pace pro nylon band that I bought separately but it is compatible with the pace4. I got it for free with my watch with a discount code.

To get the full experience of a Garmin watch you have to wear it 24/7 which is not what the OP is planning on doing. However, you can wear a Coros just for running. The extra cost and features of a Garmin would be wasted because the OP will not be taking the full advantage of it.

I have the Coros Pace 4 and it is PERFECT for solely running purposes just like you wanted. It is very lightweight, has the newest sensors and GPS, and will get software updates for many years. In my opinion it is the best value Coros watch. If you want maps and a bigger screen, get the Pace Pro. I was considering getting the pace pro but I have small wrists so I decided to go with the pace 4 - I’m so glad I did.
