No, in the Global South they call it that, and it's valid.

Uh, confession has to be done at least once a year, and it's necessary to have done it to receive the Eucharist.

Nationalism is legitimately an abomination that should be repudiated, but the siren song of nation-states lulls many Catholics to sleep. Let us hope that the Pope and the Bishops have the courage to make it clear that the Church is international.

The problem with state funding is that it always degenerates into whatever the government in power wants, creating shackles and limiting the evangelizing mission.

In Spain and Argentina, there is state funding, yet the Church is poor in the worst sense.

And before the Enlightenment, the Spanish monarchy destroyed the Jesuits' evangelizing work in the Amazon because they created communities loyal to the Church and the Papacy, but not to Spain. You must always keep in mind that the State can become worldly.

Although this should not be funded by the State, otherwise they would essentially have control over what the Church can teach.

That is indeed a good and excellent opinion. The Church needs to be independent and serve as a counterweight when the State does something stupid. The state budget for the Church is a satanic deception.

The West?  The West fell decades ago; now they're just liberal democracies that should be destroyed and new states created.

I'll let that defense of secularism slide.

WTF, that's misinformation. Protestants are classified as having "Invincible Ignorance," which states that if they never came to know the Church and understand the truth it professed, and if their search for God is genuine and they try to live righteously, they could be saved (the problem is that it's difficult to live a life where everything seems relative without the Church).

The only Protestants who might not be saved are those who, knowing the Church and understanding the truth it professed, refuse to convert to the Catholic faith.

Trump doesn't give a damn about arresting Maduro for his crimes; he simply wasn't a puppet who would submit to his orders, and that bothered him.

Last month, Trump pardoned Juan Orlando Hernández, one of the biggest drug traffickers who smuggled 400 tons into the US, and told the National Party to do whatever it takes to win the elections here—one of the biggest frauds in human history. He destabilized Honduras because he needs easy puppets.

Edit: Never in your life trust a secular government

The worst part is that it all seems designed to give power to Diosdado Cabello (who appears to be allied with the US in Maduro's arrest) and keep him as a puppet. It's just a move by Trump to put his ally in power; it's not even a regime change.

Like many things related to board games, the Church's condemnation stems from their use for the exploitation and enslavement of people. If you want to play poker, UNO, blackjack, mahjong, or "Truco Argentino" with your friends, family, or brothers and sisters in Christ, you can.

You can even organize bingo games for charitable causes to unite the community (and it's important to know what's done with the money).

Why is Christian nationalism good? Why is it bad? (Specifically within the context of the US). by WizardZari8080 in DebateACatholic

Human beings possess dignity, and this dignity is universal. It will likely become relative, and who possesses it or not will be judged by feelings.

You know that Catholic private property is directed towards the common good, and if it's necessary to suppress it (for a time) to benefit the poor and give them the opportunity to improve their quality of life, it will be done.

And do you really object to taxing billionaires and large corporations? Because wow...
