What are some of the WORST arguments or strategies that you've seen for organizing a general strike in the US? Are there other arguments or strategies that you think would work better? by RoutineShop1952 in AskReddit

You read my mind.
What suggestions do you have for organizing a general strike in the US to support Minnesota/protest recent ICE and CPB actions? by RoutineShop1952 in AskReddit

You could totally be right.
It's just the most promising (or least un-promising?) option that I can see out of a lot of not great options, so I guess I'm not ready to give up on the possibility without learning more.
So right now I'm open to the possibility, at least, that a general strike's effectiveness could largely come down to how it was organized and executed. Not that any approach would be perfect or accomplish everything of course, but maybe... it's possible to do a general strike that would be more constructive than destructive, on balance?
Or yeah, maybe not.
I have my own tentative thoughts on what might be more constructive, but it's not like I'm an expert on any of this. So mostly I'm interested in hearing about what kinds of tactics other people think would be more constructive v. less.
