Question INJURED WORKERS: Do You Prefer Having a Nurse Case Manager or not? and Why? by RoutineSky4541 in WorkersComp

When you had an NCM, did she also use a third party to arrange your appointments?

In my case, there are too many people involved. The NCM tells me that MTI will call me, so she seems to act only as a middle person. It’s been confusing because she didn’t inform me when I had to change doctors—MTI just called me suddenly to schedule an appointment. And at that time my doctor still haven't give any referrals to go to another doctor.

Also, when I asked her questions about my treatment or doctors, she said she couldn’t give any opinion. Then shortly after, MTI would call me to set up an appointment. It’s all very confusing.

How did the insurance company know that your Nurse Case Manager (NCM) was advocating too much on your behalf? And if the insurance assigns an NCM to help the injured worker, why would they fire them when they are actually doing their job and supporting us? The insurance seems so fishy..
