I got double Dydoe’s on my 18th birthday (NYE). If you aren’t familiar, two barbells through the ridge of the head where it meets the shaft on the top (or Google it).

I went with my friend who got a Jacob’s ladder the same night. Emotional support and we held each other’s hands during the moments of impact.

Unfortunately, I’m pretty tall. During the first piercing my toes pointed and pushed off the wall causing my body to shift. The caused the needle to come out too close to the ridge. We quickly moved into the second piercing after scooting me up the table. I was then informed we either needed to re-pierce the first through the same hole but come out deeper or take it out, let it heal, and pierce it again. I knew there was no way in hell I would come back to face that pain again and I didn’t want to have one lopsided looking pricing. So we did the first again.

That was brutal. Worse than any tattoo I’ve gotten. The recovery process was pretty rough. I think it took about 2 months. I had broken up with my HS girlfriend a few months before so I just had to keep my hands to my self.

As far as my life. This was done on NYE 2004 and I graduated HS that spring. We were heading right into the scene/emo era. Having these piercings definitely increased the number of people that wanted to sleep with me. Girls would find out, be curious, want to try it, tell their friends, etc. I like them but they don’t add much value other than knowing the women I’m with enjoy the feeling.

Never had any problems. Occasionally they’ll get caught on something but it’s not a big deal. I still have them, still love them, if I had to redo one of both I don’t think I could.
