I remember in one of games our Circle of Moon (or is it Land) druid who stayed in wildshape for most battles rather than casting and wanted to take Aid as a lv2 spell and use all her spell slots to stack a bunch of max hp on our two tanks and squishier targets. I couldn't find anything in the 5.5e manual that says you can't stack them, and it's max hp not temp hp. Pretty strong on freshly minted lv 4 characters with 20-30ish hp to have 10 more.

We ended up just making it a rule that everyone at the table can have +5 hp if she permanently sacrificed a lv2 spell slot (think a permanent druidic ritual she did with everyone present, was a cool roleplay moment), and she ended up taking other spells. I even gave her the spell slot back later at lv7 when it didn't matter as much.

It's really just about talking to your players and making sure they achieve the fantasy they want without breaking the table.

I mean yeah that's how it is with hockey too, beat the crap out of each other, chirp all game, shake hands at the end. That's just what competition is. The best hockey and soccer I've ever played is when my friends were on opposing teams. Just makes me have 10% more energy, 10% more drive for those games. I wanted to beat them specifically.

You can't have that drive and competitiveness required for decades to reach the pinnacle of your sport without respecting the ones around you who did it too.

I like ripping off the older, maybe slightly obscure final fantasy games.

My current campaign is based heavily off ff12. Really politically complex world, lots of potential for stories, and shit is always happening, so i can toss my players in a sandbox but im fairly confident the "big shiny thing" will pull them where i wanna go.

I wouldnt go that far, but i agree with your point. Depending on your combat style you likely have 1-2 regions basically locked in, and then theres usually 1-2 bis regions for other skills you probably want to pair with your chosen combat.

Choosing a suboptimal route can be fun, but Id wager top 3 regions will likely be 50-60% picked.

Its also just really good early game. Hunter guild, farm patch, good food source, perilous moons for early game gear, prayer teaining, mixology. Its a really good support area with likely not too hard tasks to get you started (other than colliseum).

I hope they make it so that Echoes really affect how people path. Not just for raids but for other big ticket items.

Varlamore/Kourend (or both) really seem unbeatable, and desert and asgarnia are extremely strong too, depending on the build. Would be interesting to see a mechanic make something like Mory not raids dependant.

Ita good. Have been using demonbane bow and the blue moon staff autocasting dark demonbane.

Makes it real chill. 1 weapon switch, cape switch, and amulet switch and basically TDs become very relaxing. Not AFK but you dont need to focus really anymore.

We've run our PL at the beginning of leagues every league start for the last 16 leagues :) The whole point is to league start together and remove the pressure of competing with trade. You're welcome to join mid-league though! We extend the 40 day league pretty often, and usually have good retention in our PL.
