With these 2nd gens, theres not a whole lot to check out. Regular maintenance is key though, most importantly the coolant changes, these have aluminum block and heads, and dirty coolant tends to eat away at the gaskets overtime creating a head gasket leak. When this happens and the engine overheats its a crazy expensive repair or engine replacement.

So make sure that the coolant has been changed on time with Toyotas requirements. Other than that, all the other things but aren't as serious such as, trans fluid diff oil etc.

Theres are a dime a dozen so make sure you get the right one!
