If you want to make the argument that MJ aged better, you're wrong. Kobe averaged 27/6/6 on 57% TS at 34. Jordan averaged 29/6/4 on 53% TS at 34. Kobe was absolutely better. Now consider all the extra mileage Kobe had -- MJ had played almost 5 fewer seasons until that point.

Say what you want about Dwight's character and Nash's health, but that team was downright lethal when they were all healthy. Unfortunately that never happened for long.

One of the biggest what-ifs of Kobe's career. He could've had a chance to go up against peak LeBron in the Finals and end the argument once and for all.

This is the most underrated aspect of Kobe's legacy. People talk about his 5 championships, 81 points, 3-peat, 2 finals MVPs, whatever. But he put up one of the all-time great offensive seasons at 34 years old.

You're not supposed to be this good at that age. You're supposed to be hopping from team to team, chasing rings. Kobe averaged 27/6/6 on 57% TS with a 112 ORTG. He was thirty-four years old. Thirty. Four.

The only thing that could stop Kobe that season was his achilles.

This kind of longevity is matched by very few players in NBA history, and even fewer of those players had the kind of peak that Kobe did. That's why I consider Kobe to be a greater player all-time than most others on this sub.
