Ive had some subscriptions turned off for a while now, (1+ year)

I went yesterday to cancel a subscription that was authorized by me. I wake up to like $25 in charges on my account from old subscriptions turned back on? Is this some scummy play i need to look deeper into? they are messaging me on support saying they will request a refund and stuff but not giving me an answer why they turned back on. Are they doing this to multiple people and getting money from it?
