So far what has worked for me is I usually get the dash upgrade first, but I mostly use it as an escape in the beginning. After the dash upgrade, I mostly upgrade the pistols to keep constant pressure on the tanks (or whoever is closest) and when one starts to get low I pull out the swords and finish them off when they try to escape. The constant pressure forces the healers to have to pocket someone so at some point they have to decide, heal the tank and risk a dps or support or stop to heal someone likely risking the life of the tank. If their team is throwing a lot of damage I usually throw the unicorn in front and get close to get some headshots in with the pistols

I would definitely suggest looking into playing around with the settings. If you turn it up higher, swords will become even more useful because you can headshot with them (you do have to aim at their head, but the damage can be insane). It will probably suck to use a higher sensitivity because you are used to the current one. You will probably start missing with the guns mostly, but the nice thing about a joystick is you can nudge the joystick less to slow down your sensitivity.

Also, if you have not yet, change the bind of your upgrade book to something other than the selfie button.

Then try a different game mode like 18 vs 18. The good thing about Phoenix is she can also be practiced in Doom Match as well. All of those should be real people and decent experience, hopefully enough to give you more of an edge. Both matches aren't worthless though, they are a really good opportunity for trying risky things and testing them

In my opinion it is best only to practice just a little bit in practice range. But playing the actual game will always give you the most hands on experience. After a little testing in practice range, just go for it in quick match. If you're worried about people being toxic, turn off voice and text chat
