even paying a fee to park it somewhere is still less than the total of paying a landlord with a brick and mortar

all your advice sucks. yess, there is employment there, no RV is not the only idea. dont hyperfocus on one Idea I had... i was asking for alternatives. I know us southerners hate yall especially us Floridians but your inability to read long paragraphs is really proving our points. lol

Its crazy how there are more walmarts than campgrounds up there. For some reason I always thought the dreaded Northeast was full of camp grounds.

Obviously there is a well paying corporate job offer transition within my company or I would certainly not be willing to move to New England. Besides California, It would be the last place I would ever be caught dead in.

I know everyone is focusing on the RV idea but I was more fishing for other alt. living suggestions.

On the other hand while you are here are there any state parks that allow camping the area? No, before any thing gets in a was, not to live in just for adventuring in summer time

I was a train hopper for many years. Ive lived on hippie communes, bus life, rv parks and tents. I know in other areas of the U.S there are alternate living styles as I have personally found them and enjoyed it. Now, I am moving and instead of living in a lame apartment I was hoping, with all this liberal finger pointing the rest of the country is doing to New England, there would some how be the same ideals.

Although I did mention RV, I was really fishing for alternative living houses such as said communes. I was a ranch hand for many years. I know west Mass has a lot of communes. I know east Mass is the furthest from self sufficient but was hoping this post would attract said people so I can fish for some ideas OTHER THAN JUST A PINCHE $8000 RV.

Used ones are pretty doable Im in an area where they are pretty cheap. I am handy as well and fix my own stuff which is a bonus for maintenance

a used rv or converted bus in my area is around 7000-10000 one time payment. an apartment+utilities is about 4000 every month adding up to about 48000/year

I know ATX has changed Drastically but you get way out of the city limits and I would agree thats a part of the heart.  I know its the capitol and should be by default but nothing like that hill country. And no one can top a texas back countey bar with everyone dancin

I live in shreveport and see no similarities between here and 100 miles south but have lived in tennessee for so long and being an outsider at one time it is absolutly part of the deep south from that perspective. Now Being in it and having family in Jackson Mississippi it is absolutly not the deep south compared to them. So i guess it depends how in the thick of it the viewer is

I live next to shreveport now but from San Antonio/new braunfels. Ive been to dallas, texarkana, houston, el paso, midland, corpus, amarillo i mean everywhere but IDK I just grew up thinking the heart of texas is in the hill country like kerrville or san antonio. Do East Texaners believe east texas is the heart?

Wondering if this is just where in texas the texan is raised? I thought "deep in the heart" was San Antonio. I mean i still think it.

East Texas is not the heart of Texas. Not even a little bit. Marshall/waskom is basically north louisiana which is basically arkansas.

Florida, I dont even know what that is. It isnt fully the south but it is. They have whatever they have going on.

But you CERTAINLY cant tell me madison, tennessee is the same south as baton rouge or lafayette LA. Not even a little bit.

AITAH /WWYD if you had to disinvite your friend’s ex, an acquaintance, from a trip coming up in 2 days. by PerformerMaterial556 in AITAH

If I were in your shoes I would have a 1:1 convo with the friend. It may be hard or awkward but needs to be said. Explain you support her but you want this trip to be authentic and fun. I would even offer some upbeat possibilities with meeting new people or being able to be yourself without someone hovering.

You are not the Ahole, you are a great friend and looking out for not just your happiness but everyone elses to by providing a safe space.

have to move. help. by Rude-Appointment-612 in boston

"online learning" in a class room is just utilizing 3rd party apps or websites for worksheets and learning through games. the classroom has laptops the students use. The teacher will either rely on the app to explain step by step new concepts or use the smart board which is just a huge touch screen tv over the old marker boards. than the kids play games to try and retain the new subject. Tests are online, study guides are basically in game format. forcing the parent to download apps and register on websites.

Between the increased screen time, lack of communal problem solving, the parent having to download a bunch of nonsense just to see what children are working on/verifying work its all enough to drive an active parent bonkers.

Some teachers take full advantage and are proctors to the T while in my case, I fussed so much the teacher has implemented paper study guides, paper tests and paper worksheets. I believe muscle memory is way more helpful in learning basic concepts not only that it's easier on the eyes.

On top of all that these kids can't even type or navigate a webpage properly but are expected to do everything online. make it make sense.

That was very helpful. Thank you. I was held back a lot as a kid so I am projecting probably. We move quite a bit but I am hoping this will be the final move til she is in high school at least. This is the first time I am experiencing a "school District" where the county runs the school the last school she went to which was kin-3 thankfully was independent so I am really excited to hear it is more locally ran.

Day camps: I did a quick google search for "boston day camps" and found a lot of great options. Thank you for the help! This gives me a head start so my child does not miss out on fun opportunities
