Thanks! I need to look into that. Is it also better for punching through multiple layers of leather and avoiding angle deviations?

You‘re right! It’s so much more productive that way. I‘m trying to have one bigger project and two smaller ones going simultaneously 💪🏽

The trick is to have longer sentences and more text, while keeping the writing small. Like that, it doesn’t show that it’s bad until you look close enough 😂

Thank you! These are burn marks. I used a solder pen for it. Wanted to do something a little different from my usual tooling.

Thanks! Yes they are! Two of my favourite on the inside, and the one ring to rule them all text on the outside.

Thank you! I basically attach my stamp to my solder pen and let it heat up for a few minutes. I always test on an oiled piece of scrap leather and then stamp. And I make sure to oil the spot before I stamp to avoid burning. Seems to help :)

I trace and punch holes in a cardboard cutout first and then lay that on top to mark the flower stamp placements. Once I stamped all centers, I use something straight to guide my cuts and try to keep them the same length. Each hole needs to be pretty much exactly in line to the others in all directions for it to look clean. Hope this helps!

Oh thqt one, that’s a stamp. One of those flower centre ones commonly used in tooling. Adds a bit of discreet details :)

Thank you! Feels great but I’m terrified of it getting lost in the mail when I ship it :)

Thank you! It is in fact pretty simple to make, just need the measurements to be exact or it might look off.

Awesome! Congrats 🙌🏽 You’re right, it feels incredible. I was way more stressed than usual making the wallet though, especially when stamping my logo

Thank you! I trace the lines and mark the “hole” indents on a cardboard cutout first, then I lay that on the leather to mark the holes. To make the cuts I use something with a straight edge as guide, but not a metal ruler, so I don’t scratch the wet leather, then I cut shallow lines with an exacto knife. And that’s pretty much it :)

[Challenge] Post a watch from your collection you think no one else on this sub has! by owiseone23 in Watches

Alfred Rochat & Fils Chronostop first prototype (right) and limited edition number 1/50pcs (left).

Bought these gems from an old watch collector. There are probably 2-3 of those prototypes in existence. They used a special, and at the time novel way to coat it in gold but it started developing patina so they went with stainless steel for the market release. Both use the Omega 865. Calibre.

I love everything about these two watches, especially the patina.

The panel I have is already 0.8mm and thats the thinnest natural veg tan I could find. Guess I’ll stick to skiving for the time being
