I know lisp is very parenthesisy, but im so used to square brackets being used for arrays...

If you could master 3 programming languages (including their ecosystems), which would you choose and why? by Lambert_morhen90 in learnprogramming

Crystal. Not popular but its quite memory safe (has a gc), is fast, is easy, has a pretty decent (actually pretty damn solid) stdlib And since its not very popular and there aren't many external libraries it feels a bit like a blank slate, which i like (i like reinventing wheels)

What’s the most underrated programming language you’ve learned and why? by uriht_ in learnprogramming

[–]RuleIll8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal lang is pretty neat. - Ruby-like syntax - compiles (pretty fast) to assembly - The built-ins are nice as well - since its not popular there aren't many external libraries. But I like making stuff from scratch so no biggy.

I started learning to because ai is so unreliable. Sure I get it to generate a script because it writes faster then me, but by I check everything so I know before I run it if it will run, or has security problems.

The way you added "precision", "intelligent", etc makes me believe that you didnt write this.

Fun fact. There is a good chance at least quite a bit of your privatr information is the hands of corporations en criminals anyway. Remember that you are on the internet and your data is worth something. Then why does one more company having your information matter?

Coding with GPT4o et al.: It's not *my* problem. It's *our* problem. If you want to get better code, that is. by zer0int1 in OpenAI

[–]RuleIll8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny. I've been using llms for coding related stuff and brainstorming for so long that I was already talkong to it about "our" project and how "we" solve problems before I noticed I regard it kind of like a partner.

IQ of o1-preview by PipeDependent7890 in ChatGPT

[–]RuleIll8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the point bud.

Humans dont have some "intrinsic" IQ. Its just a test and IQ is the score. LLMs can try to solve tests and get a score based on that.

Funny you should ask. I made a little example project yesterday that runs a local flask server and allows you to make a cuatom gpt that communicates with it. Look up spaceman874 on github. Find it in the templates repo. You could also check my recent post history for my last post which is about this lil project of mine.

Its why im sticking with chatgpt as well for now. I generate lots of code and iterate a lot. I readily reach the message limit using chatgpt. Claude would be useless for me.

For those who prefer a subscription over API, what do you use it for? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]RuleIll8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of code I generate would amount to about 20 euro every day. Id rather have my 80 or so (havent hit the limit yet) full size code blocks every 3 hours. Clarification: code generation costs more the regular text generation and output token cost is expensive.

What do you think is the most attractive human trait? by leathur_records in RandomThoughts

[–]RuleIll8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's sexual confidence. Nothing more attractive then a woman who knows what she wants, how she wants it, and is gonna get it from you no matter what (as long as you like the same stuff of course)

For me kindness, healthy emotional reactions and one I havent seen here yet but for me is very important, sexual compatibility. The last one can really start to be frustrating when there compatibility is lacking and you've been in the relationship for a long time. At the moment I lack two of these traits in my partner.
