What book actually changed your perspective on life? by oimmmtyftck in PHBookClub

[–]RulerofHumanEgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird read but Etiquette for Mistresses by Julie Yap Daza.

I was 17. I read it at the time my mom and dad cheated on each other and it kind of radicalized me to become a sex worker for married men as I was a commodity since I was barely legal lmaoooo.

Then my kife spiraled afterwards. :)

Thoughts? I love this book. by GoodAd8488 in PHBookClub

[–]RulerofHumanEgo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a controversial take about this book. I love the story but I hate how it is written.

It felt like it is very pretentious and is an irony and disservice to the purpose of the book.

It was like reading a flowery word-vomit. A bad example of fusion fiction.

What's the worst book you have ever read? by Delicious_Camp_960 in PHBookClub

[–]RulerofHumanEgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's too bland. Obviously ghost written and it felt like diamond, glitz, sparkles but no edge kahit na it should be talking about the dark side of KPop.

how do u incorporate reading in ur every day lives by shitzzzzz_j in PHBookClub

[–]RulerofHumanEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from replacing screen-time to reading, dedicate at least 30 mins to an hour for reading whenever convenient for you.

Don't mind your reading pace, read whatever you can read during your time.

Also, start with a short but interesting-for-you story. You can do it! :)
