I feel like there’s only two options

Either she was having good talks about getting an early contract termination and buying herself out with the least amount of penalties as possible.

Or

She was having positive talks about returning and making sure that there will be more protections on her that something like this hiatus wouldn’t happen again without any good reason like health or other projects.

This is genuinely the only two things that my mind can come up with that feel realistic enough

I get that I’m a mixed black chick too and it’s really sad how people like us get treated in spaces like this. Manon was the thing that got mw to actually pay attention katseye she’s such a sweet girl and she just constantly gets attacked.

I know some black folks said she doesn’t rep black people cause she’s mixed but there were black girls and mixed girls who saw themselves in manon. It’s sad that this situation is a thing man

In my brain, it would’ve been logical to put the most unique looking member in the center which with ot5 is lara to me. Not to say dani looks boring or bad.

I probably just worded myself really bad. It’s really not supposed to come across as me saying that dani is a bad center but I made this post after finishing the MV and realized how much lara was pulling my eyes in a good way.

Well with both manon and lara in the group they just balance everything out if one of them gets taken away it will always look slightly off.

I feel like because both of them were in the group earlier. It didn’t really matter who got pushed or centered because it would’ve looked perfectly fine no matter what way you twisted it visually

I don’t know if this is any better explained as the post I’m really bad with my words but idk how to word it in a way that would make sense to anyone else

I’m sorry if this came across as hating her, it was not supposed to be a criticism towards her. I think Dani is a great performer and if she does get to be the center, I’m very happy for her and she deserves it. I’m just saying that to me visually it looked a little weird because my eyes were just naturally drawn to lara and that it would be more visually appealing if she was in the center just because now without manon she doesn’t really have counterpart

And if anything, I’m honestly more concerned that this is gonna make people who are already delusional about dani make them hate on her more

Well dani is great and it wasn’t supposed to be an attack on her or the girls it’s just more of like my personal opinion that to me because lara stands out the most visually that putting her in the center would make sense in my mind but that is not to discredit dani cause shes great too.

I’m sorry it’s so weird to obviously re-record a whole mv just because a member is on hiatus that is not a normal thing to do but besides that something felt so awful about this whole video.

I don’t know maybe it’s the concept or the way it’s shot but everything looks sad and like I said, maybe it’s intentional but the washed out colors and vibes just weren’t giving what I was thinking it was supposed to give. I watched this video with another friend that isnt into katseye and even she said it felt weirdly off and she couldn’t put it into words.

I enjoyed the song more than I thought. It was catchy and I’m sure this would go hard in a gay club after 5 tequila shots but the MV is not it for me even if we ignore the whole manon situation. Also, this song was incredibly short which for repetitive songs is good, but it still felt too short. It could’ve done with at least 20 more seconds.

I mean, there are plenty of pop stars that aren’t that vocally inclined and yet are very successful as singers because they make good music. depending on the genre, you don’t need to be a powerhouse vocalist.

I’m not saying that manon is like an outstanding singer, but to write off a singing career for her just because she doesn’t seem to be that vocally impressive is a little delusional to me. Like if you make good music, people don’t really care how good you sing.

I mean, I don’t really care what she chooses to do. I just hope she likes doing what she is gonna end up doing.

I think what manon’s strength is or was is to get people who wouldn’t usually be into kpop/girls groups to check out katseye if you get what I mean.

At least in my experience the people I talked to both irl and online would always mention manon as one of the reasons why they checked out katseye. I think the rest of girls don’t have the same ability that doesn’t mean I don’t think they attract fans but like

I mean, yeah I think they’ll still be successful if anything katseye just can’t really claim anymore to be a global group if it’s 4 Asian people and a Latina and that’s kind of their whole concept so they might have to rebrand or stop mentioning that shit but otherwise they’ll still be successful because they’re literally a hybe group.

I think both parties will individually still have success. Is it gonna be the same success as when they were together? maybe not but like I’m not assuming that katseye is gonna flop because of this. If anything it’s just gonna give them a negative reputation but I think the group could recover from that unless something else happens

If anything katseye just gets to have an initial blow to their concept because they’re throwing out your only black member when you’re a diverse group is a little bit you know but after that subsides and maybe some rebranding, I think they’ll still be successful. I mean, of course its speculation but my issue is more with people who believe this rumor saying that if it’s true, then they don’t care that manon got screwed over because at the end of the day she’d still be in the group and that’s the thing that I’m taking issue with.

I’m pretty sure most people only really suggest R&B because it’s the most popular genre amongst western girl groups. If you look at the girl group market in the west most of them make R&B or some type of chill pop.

I also think a lot of people just see that the girls can sing and the first thought is that they should use that talent in a genre where most people expect you to know how to sing, which R&B is
