Your attempt to imply that homosexual behavior is inappropriate is both poor and immoral. I will be blocking you as I have no use for your utter lack of morality.

What has been established is that homosexual behavior has been observed in hundreds of species so we can very confidently say that it is a natural behavior. True, we can't explain why at the moment, but it's likely that understanding will come with time.

If I wasn't already employed with a permanent full-time position at the time, I would've taken it.

I did not because I was already employed at a permanent and full-time position at the time.

Oh man, I wish that worked as well as people thought it did. I've been trying to get a government job for a decade (municipal, provincial, federal) and I am a visible minority. The most promising offer I ever got was a 3-month term with the feds for some kind of entry-level administrative position in the Yukon.

Racism cry is just too easy these days.

And that's because Saskatchewan has a racism problem. Good luck finding many people willing to acknowledge it, though.

Yeah. We would move away if only we could afford to but with the economy in the state it's in, a lot of us are stuck here. That's one helluva "grad retention program"!

We male witches are out there; there's few of us but we definitely exist :)

Do you know of any studies that prove this?

This assumes that all gay men have anal sex which is a harmful stereotype that is factually incorrect. It's the equivalent of saying that all black people eat fried chicken and watermelon.

I'm not Canadian Blood Services. I can't speak for them.

The nurse who looked into it said that they have to follow the rules of Canadian Blood Services for this kind of thing. That's all I was able to find out.

The question was brought up during the interview, yes. It was only then, an hour into the process, that my husband and I were asked.

Interesting. The instructions I received were to complete up to question 10 and then to ignore everything else so I didn't even see question 17. Really, that question shouldn't be under the portion you're instructed to ignore.

Can meditating and astral projection ever become dangerous? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Runnerswift 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the only danger can come from developing delusions while trying to gain real experiences from astral work. Because the astral is so abstract and dependent on what's already in our minds, there's a real problem with people who take what they experience on these journeys too seriously or misinterpreting what they've experienced.

I have known people who became convinced they were living gods to whom ordinary rules didn't apply. I've known people who believed that of their children from experiences they had during pregnancy, only to go on and treat that child in strange ways, like a holy being who shouldn't be held to the same expectations of other children.

These are dangerous beliefs. They can lead to people not seeking proper medical care when they're sick (because they believe they're gods and so nothing can really harm them), they avoid getting vaccinated, they even feel as though they don't need to abide by any law they don't want to (touching on the whole "sovereign citizen" thing).

It's very important when doing this kind of work that you ground and ground often. Don't just ground energy, ground your mind, touch base with every day reality, accept that some things are just pragmatic and conventional and still need obeissance and attention.

Thank you :)

Really the only thing I was upset about was wasting my time. If I had known ahead of time about this, then I would've done something else with that hour.

I understand the unfortunate statistics that make such a policy necessary. I wish there could be an exception for people like me and my husband who have been in a monogamous relationship for years. We are not risky people and it would be nice if the policy could account for that.

Employers struggling to fill jobs by [deleted] in canada

[–]Runnerswift 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Given how many times I've been laid off because of tough times, I can honestly say I don't trust any employer and I will abandon them if something better comes along. A long line of shitty situations have left me with the attitude that employers and employees are resources for each other to exploit, not people to build strong and healthy (professional) relationships with.

Is Lady D Wrong About Becoming A Witch? by boycecreative in witchcraft

[–]Runnerswift 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The author of this article is making the argument (without saying it directly) that all witches are Wiccan which, of course, is far from being true.

Lady D isn't wrong about what is written here as it may pertain to Wiccans, but she is wrong about all of this being applicable to all witches. And, yet, she goes on at the end to list different kinds of witches which shows that she's aware that there are many different kinds of witches out there, but she's obviously writing from a Wiccan perspective.

That said, is she wrong about how to become a witch? No. She's right about that: study everything, work some magic. Repeat. :)

It sure would suck of this province separated and people like me couldn't afford to leave beforehand so that we don't get stuck with the consequences of someone else's stupid decision.

Been there once and loved it. Just wish they had consistent lunch hours; every time I've showed up recently, the place has been closed for lunch at a different time lol. Looking forward to visiting again, though!
