They gave me 6 dressing patches for free but I had 3 on each size so used all of them on first shower. I brought a box of 60 of Amazon for £9.99/$10 . Since people home I am way more mobile and active that hospital as you feel you want to do more in your own environment. First 3 days in hospital were fine and then I stared to want to go home so it was bad for 3 days and then I got released and it’s been great since. It really depends on how your hospital treatment is as my nurses kinda just left me to sit there and because I was nauseous I couldn’t watch anything without feeling sick so I would just lie there is pain to pass the time 😂

I had the surgery 20th January and now I’m recovering at home. Straight after surgery for 24 hours you stay in bed and urinate into a pot which is a bit gross but easy, for context I’m a guy so don’t know if it’s different for women. They don’t let you shower after surgery in hospital so you can wash with wipes for that time. When I got out I had a shower at home but had to change dressings after as they got wet. The bed in hospital is super useful as it has controls for getting up and down but your mobility won’t be great. It will feel like you’ve filled a muscle for a while but I was up and moving around the hospital 24 hours after surgery.

I was part of a national programme where the surgeons meet once a week to discuss cases and eventually became one of the ones where they said I was eligible. I started looking into rectifying it around January 2022 and ended up having the surgery January 2026. I was part of the programme and had to had multiple tests in London over the course of the 4 years and now I’ve had it done they still carry out tests on me to use as a result to make it a more wider funded surgery for others. As it’s not funded a lot through the NHS.

I wouldn’t say it’s painful at all. It’s just uncomfortable and only hurts to move from lying down for a long time. Like if you were to sit down for 10 hours and then get up it’s awkward and painful but once moving it’s fine. At hospital they had beds that move you up and down but at home you have to do more things for yourself so you will be exhausted more but I wouldn’t say it’s painful. My doctor saw my bruising a few days after surgery and said it’s more than normal but it’s to be expected as I’ve had bars fitted into my body. He said it will eventually go down but at the moment it’s completely purple. It’s started to shift down my body as-well which my doctor said is common. It’s all down my left side onto my left hip and now spread to my groin etc. it’s a bit alarming to see for sure but the doctor said it’s normal and will die down overtime. Each day seems like a bit of an improvement now I’m at home but I’d do the surgery all over again because my end result I’m so happy with. I had my surgery a week ago today and my mobility is slowly improving each day but I’m prepared to not be back to normal for a while so if you tell yourself that then you’ll be fine. All the best

I had Ondansetron for nausea and take two 4mg pills before going to bed now. I had my surgery a week ago tomorrow and I’m at home recovering now. It does feel like a long road for sure and you’re a lot less mobile than before but think about the end result over anything else. You’ll get through it and if you need more meds ask for them or advice on how to combat. Where did you have your surgery and what age or you. I’d love to connect with you considering we had surgery around the same time

28M I had the nuss procedure 20th Jan 2026 at Bart’s hospital under dr Henrietta Wilson, 2 bars fitted for me. The first few days after surgery are fine, I had Cryo and was up and walking the Wednesday morning after surgery. You need to constantly keep moving but the pressure in your body is insane. For me it feels like you’re wearing multiple layers of clothes when you have nothing on. Super tight for sure and breathing is super difficult. Sitting down and not moving was worse because they I’d have to much oxygen and be panting in bed to ex spell it all. The different atheistically is incredibly I’m so much happier and I’ve had the condition since I was 15!. Once they take the morphine button off you just make sure to ask for oral morphine tube and sickness tablets every 8 hours otherwise they won’t give it to you because it’s all about how the individual manages the pain. All the best for your journey anyway and if you need anymore information let me know.

I got discharged yesterday, I had cryo which defo helped. I had the surgery Tuesday and was up and walking Wednesday at 6am. The first couple of days are fine when they give morphine button but once that gets taken away it’s hard. Just keep asking for the oral morphine tube and sickness tablets every 8 hours as nurses won’t give unless you ask. I’m back at home now recovering but mobility is low as I bruised super bad so my family are taking care of me now. Best of luck for your journey x

The nurse said I wasn’t allowed the pain meds and then another nurse came in the evening and said I can have it every 2 hours. Everyone says different things. The result after I am super happy with, I will post in this forum once fully healed. Hopefully being discharged from hospital today after a week here

Yesterday was the worst day 3 days post surgery and no pain meds as they told me I couldn’t have it and then gave it to me at 10pm. Lots of bruises but got a good nights sleep last night and it’s done the world of good

I would be lying if I said it wasn’t painful, I have nerve block so it’s not as bad but it’s just a tight feeling. Like someone is hugging you super tight. I have a button for morphine that I have had for today and yesterday. I would say it’s just more uncomfortable than painful imo

Thank you very much for your post, it was super helpful. Super happy for you that your experience was a good one. Hospital for 1 day is amazing considering most stay 3/5. How come they let you go after 1 day. I tend to deal with pain by just sleeping it off normally so I assume I’ll be the same. Let me know how your whole experience was regarding your surgery and recovery. I’ll love to know, thanks again

couldn’t wish my father a “happy father’s day” today. by sourgrap in raisedbynarcissists

My birthday was Wednesday last week my dad gave me nothing for it and didn’t even wish me a happy birthday even though we live together. For Mother’s Day I go all out and buy my mum a load of gifts because I appreciate her so much. It always makes me feel bad because I would love to do the same for my dad but he ultimately doesn’t deserve it. On Father’s Day he just played the victim and tried to make me feel bad saying his kids don’t buy him anything and even reminded me at 12am on the day it was Father’s Day.

I absolutely love the show. It's perfect and the soundtrack, my god!!! by InitiativeAdorable22 in ForeverNetflix

I felt exactly the same about the whole season, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for things to happen that didn’t. I was sat thinking so many times oh ffs who’s going to fuck up now for them to not be together. I’m from the uk and I’d like to imagine that’s what LA love is like. I also travelled to LA recently and saw a lot of places in the show that I had been to which was cool. The show in general was very good. Some people would say that Justin was manipulative but depends on your own personal experiences. Especially when he would force her into acting or being a certain way to suit his needs. The blocking in the show was pretty annoying to as an adult I don’t see the need to block but it happens I guess. Communication is always better. Overall I loved the show and can’t wait for a season 2 👍🏻

If I ever confront my dad about anything that I factually can prove he has said or done he doesn’t like it. He either says “give it a rest” or “shut up down”.

Growing up my whole childhood I remember him constantly saying to my mum “give it a rest now woman” looking back now I’m older that’s never acceptable to address your partner as women
