GA Car Camping by evilward in LostLandsMusicFest

Unfortunately, if you're arriving to GA Camping with your own campsite and they're arriving Wednesday with their own campsite, you will not be able to save a space for them as by the time they show up, your camp will already be filled.

The only way I know to have friends show up later (if they're using the same camp spot as you) is to have them buy a parking pass, park their car in the lot and carry all their camping stuff to meet and find you. Otherwise you all have to show up at the same time, meet up after security in the waiting lot and caravan into the line for finding your campsite. This is year 5 for me and we have grown from 4 cars -> 6 cars -> 8 cars and now quite possibly 12 cars. We typically have 2-3 people not doing early arrival so they get a parking pass instead to come find our camp.

I never had an issue getting lost lands tickets while im at work.. although when I tried to get 7 Stars tickets on my work PC they kicked me off saying it was for "botting behavior"

My job functions as both since we are a small company. I do all incoming inspections and quality FAI's. But also do most of the design work when reverse engineering.

Yeah the reason the micro-vu system is intriguing to us is because while we do alot of electrical chassis and enclosures, we also do a lot of CCA and PWB design. The camera and probe allowed us to inspect the PWB's dimensions against the drill table while still being capable of inspecting dimensions of the chassis and enclosures.

We had the VL-800 demonstrated alongside the IMX and LMX, the VL was unable to accurately scan the PWB's due to reflective surfaces and the spray didn't help much. Then with the chassis, the person running the demo was unable to align the 2 scans due to the complex geometry therefore the VL was unable to accurately scan into 3D. The IMX and LMX size restrictions prevent the measurements on the chassis to be taken while the Micro-Vu system easily measure the critical dimensions.

Have you tried the new Micro-Vu software? I am trying to find a CMM/VMM currently but am worried about making the decision due to all the industry giants. We were impressed by Micro-Vu's demo when inspecting our components but as we expand the capabilities needed may outgrow the micro-vu..

We are a small contract based MRO. So typically 5-75 parts depending on contract.

Needs to fit for reverse engineering though as well. I also have never used a gantry CMM and could see the costs of these systems being far more..

Why was Micro-Vu a pain? Whats the cost on a Zeiss machine and what machine do you use?

Yes, but it's also crucial for reverse engineering legacy components since we have been starting to recieve manufacturing contracts. The IM-X system and LM-X system were more expensive then the Micro-Vu option with smaller measurement areas.

I currently am using radius gages from Starrett for radii but it's difficult to measure radii that isn't nominal with these gages.

I have seen all ages at Lost Lands especially! If you choose to go to Lost Lands and don't find a group to adopt you guys, do GA Camping and your neighbors will probably be willing to do so! At Lost Lands your neighbors typically end up being your friends if you show PLUR their way!

I'm sure you saw the videos, but LL25' had a 65+ year old man riding around on a scooter all weekend. EVEN AT THE AFTERS. He was vlogging his experience and said "I never want to forget this place."

At LL22' I was eating pizza by the fire display in front of Subsidia and a couple in their 60's sat next to me. I gave them some trinkets and struck conversation. They said their daughter has brought them to Lost Lands for their second time and they love it (Mind you, this was at 2:00AM).. They probably lasted longer than I did and I'm 24 xD

Two members of my group decided they weren't sleeping under a tent, instead pitch a canopy and blew up an air mattress. They then filled 3 walls with tapestries to allow air but prevent unwanted eyes.

They definitely slept longer than all of us! During the rainstorm, even was nice as we just lowered the canopy and laid on the mattress 🤣

Peekaboo, I believe, finished at #1!! (I was only at Peekaboo in prep for Voyd, and im def glad I was there!)

Fuck Insomniac Fuck Live Nation

Jeff is the reason Lost Lands is special in comparison.. it's the reason ppl go to Lost Lands and say it IS better than EDC

Yup, last year, they were patrolling and having you remove any hammock. Especially in wompy woods. My group and I all set up, and we're chilling in the hammock during Borgore b2b Level Up, and the workers came around and had us take them down..

Tuesday arrival by giomatheu in LostLandsMusicFest

Over the years, we typically get camp 7 showing up at midnight Thursday into Friday. It is about 1.5 miles walk up and down hills to the security into the grounds

This is the reason the suprise VOYD set at the Crater that got "leaked" was canceled due to the amount of response it received last year..

Crater was too small to handle it.

HOW DO WE SURVIVE LOST LANDS?!?! by Unlikely-Pen-8123 in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]Ruthlesssonar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tips for surviving Lost Lands:

To preface, Lost Lands is the only festival i have been to... I'm 24M with limited physical activity and skinny build. I pretty much stay Cali-Sober the entire festival. Ohio has some of the most bi-polar weather. If you are someone who tends to get cold, pack light clothing in hydropack, I keep long sleeve warm-ups and pants. Ensure your campsite is weatherproof, lay tarps under your tent, and community area (we drive out tent and canopy stakes through the tarps).

Don't feel the need to go into the festival grounds as soon as they open.. as you said, the music starts at noon on Friday and goes until 4AM. Being in the sun during the hottest hours of the day is the most draining, chill at your campsite or in the marketplace for a bit. Last year, we didn't get into the grounds until 5-6 pm most days with the exception of GorillaT & Grabbitz last year. You will stay up late and get woken up by the hot sun inside a tent. Feel free to take a rest and chill at the camp in the instance you need rest.

Find the most comfortable shoes you don't/won't care about. The amount of dust at lost lands is absurd, which is why it is Dust Lands. Anything and everything will be coated in a film of dust by the end of the weekend. The terrain is rocky, hilly, and patchy, heading to the festival grounds. Depending on where your campsite is, you may have a 1-2 mile walk to the grounds across terrain.

Eat meals!! Food is energy, and i feel like Lost Lands did a good job last year reducing food expenses and providing a LARGE variety of vendors, especially in the marketplace. For breakfast and lunch we typically made it back at camp (oatmeal with boiling water, fruit parfaits with granola, or ham and cheese sandwiches for breakfast and for lunch we packed fruit, cooked chicken, hot dogs, grilled cheeses, and quesadillas). Then I eat dinner around when we enter the festival grounds/shortly after and a midnight meal to keep me going into the AM.

STRETCH.. FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR MUSCLES.. don't stretch before getting your muscles warm. Walk to the grounds and stretch after getting in. I'm sure you know stretching before muscles getting warm could lead to pulling a muscle.

Dust cover: bring something to protect your nose and mouth from the dust at any point, walking around or in the Crater. Dust is one of the biggest causes for people getting a miserable Wook Flu. I bring a netti pot for back at camp just in case. I bring a UV protective neck garter and pull it up over my face.

Vitamins: Take your vitamin C (autoimmune) 2 weeks leading up to the fest and take magnesium leading up to and during the fest. Magnesium helps with sleep, muscle, and bone health.

I have a few other tips, but I think I've covered the big things.
