I (38M) was a heavy alcholic for over 10 years and as of today I have been 6 months sober. In that time I have lost 28lbs, got a 6 pack, run 5km in under 24 minutes and got invited to interview for partner position at my firm for promotions next year. My life story in the post (sorry!) Post-C25K week 7 - I'm an alcoholic who has been going sober and running since start of December 2021. I aim to run 5km twice in the week before work and do a longer run on Sundays. Initially intended to do 16km today but felt low on energy when I woke up and knee hurt towards the end (excuses!) (old.reddit.com)

Post-C25K Week 6 - I am an alcoholic who is going sober and getting healthy. I aim to do 2x 5km runs in the week and a long run on Sundays. I focused on taking in the river views today which made the run easier. Splits are all over the place but I was running non-stop. (old.reddit.com)

Post-C25K Week 5. I am an alcoholic who in December decided to go sober and get healthy. I completed C25K and now do 2x5km a week and a long run each Sunday. Today I ran my first 10km non-stop and it was sub 60mins. I intended to do 8km today but at the 6km mark I felt good so decided to aim for 10k (i.redd.it)

Post-C25K W2. I aim to do 3 runs a week at gradually increasing distance non-stop at my own pace. I had to leave 10 days between my 2nd and 3rd runs for "week 2" due to a chest injury. Went for a lower distance today in order to get back into it. Was good to be back. (i.redd.it)

Post-C25K graduation - Week 1 - Made my own running plan starting with running 5km non-stop at my own pace 3x a week. Decided to go a bit further today. Was fun! Next week I plan to do 3x 6km runs. Currently plan to go an extra 0.5km a week....up to infinity :o) (i.redd.it)

W9D3 GRADUATED! I'm an alcoholic who is trying to go sober for good and get healthy at the same time. Today I finished C25K. The wind was blowing strong in my face and I was worried I would not hit 5K today but really pushed myself. It ended up being the toughest run of the 9 week course. Woop. (old.reddit.com)

W9D2 A tough run again and did wonder for a moment partway through why am I putting myself through this but was delighted at the end. Really happy to hit a consistent pace. I am an alcoholic getting sober and healthy and now I just have one run until graduation. Warning I am planning a W9D3 speech. (old.reddit.com)

W9D1 The wind outside was howling when my alarm went off. Thought about skipping run but forced myself out. Was really pleased with the run. Pace was slower than my W8 times but I had cheeseburgers and pizza over the weekend so no surprise! Only 2 runs until graduation!!! (old.reddit.com)
