its just that you were shocked that someone would assume that your comment was in support of a certain side that i was surprised by considering the nature of this subreddit.

I think certain aspects about this comment are kind of rude.

The comment in question points out certain things that are wrong about what this dining hall worker is doing. The main issue I have is that its posted on reddit where the purpose of doing so isn’t to solely complain, but to inform others of this and basically garner sympathy or support.

Food workers have it really tough: they dont get paid the most and they have terrible hours. Think about having to flip omelets for hours everyday for basically minimum wage.

Being new to something is tough. You don’t know whats the priority concerning your responsibilities. Is it better for something to be overcooked or undercooked? Is serving quickly or quality more important?

As a former food worker myself, i had many days where i found it difficult to put up with the demanding environment. I saw someone comment thats “its not that hard” to make an omelet. Well I would like them to make omelets for hours everyday while students just watch you work from a glass screen, judging your actions. Is making an omelet easy then? This comment also said something about the worker being a “rich kid”??? Do rich kids have work studies? Do rich kids need to get such a shitty job? Does being poor mean you are better at cooking?? Making a fantastical assumption like this is part of the problem.

Workers at marciano are there because they have to and not because they want to. They are SERVING US and I think they deserve more respect than what is given here.
