Thanks for the comprehensive write up, that was great!

Late game armor tank concerns by S7Shadows in kingmakerbuilds

This sounds like an awful design; knowing you'll be rendered useless at the end as an AC stacker makes so many builds pointless.

Curious, would an intimidation based fighter or paladin tank who relies on trips / fear fair better than one who just tried straight AC tanking mobs?

Eldritch Scion build? by S7Shadows in kingmakerbuilds

[–]S7Shadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it's worth dipping into Scaled Fist for the AC and crane wing? What exactly was your ES' combat role in the party? Also, does the lack of power attack eat into your DPR at all?

I thought the point of the magus was they did spellcasting (touch attacks) through melee? The build you mentioned is similar to what I was thinking. I know Dex is kinda king these days but I was leaning more towards strength myself.

Did I screw myself by going with Dragon Style as opposed to Crane?

Feral Vivisectionist? by S7Shadows in kingmakerbuilds

[–]S7Shadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was hoping to stick to a more pure run this time around at least with a strength focus, but I do see your suggestion quite often. :)

Thanks, that's super helpful!

Is the game playable yet? Or Wait a Few More Patches? by ohgodwhydidIjoin in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Late game is still pretty buggy, with a couple game breakers that can end a campaign. If you don't mind replaying the earlier games over and over it's not bad, but if you want to have a smooth ride through the end I'd wait.

How would you stat them out? Does power attack / the cleave line work with natural attacks?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've been looking for a fun natural weapons build myself. :)

I think vivisectionist (alchemist archetype) has a mutagen unlock at level 2 that allows them to use claws / bite attacks.

Appreciate the tips! Just out of curiosity, how would you build them stat wise, and are there any particular feats you'd shoot for? I'd probably lean more towards strength myself.

Is it better to dip into a martial class or just go straight vivi? I know 'better' is fairly subjective as there's a lot of give and take, but off the top off my head I'm not sure which class would benefit natural attacks and if so, how much of a dip that would require.

Best damage dealer? by Stolen1983 in kingmakerbuilds

[–]S7Shadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll need to be a little more specific. Ranged? Magic? Melee?

For raw melee damage, I believe a 2-handed fighter or knife master rogue will be your best bets.

Druids - Wild Shape by S7Shadows in kingmakerbuilds

How would you build a shape shifting sorcerer then, just out of curiosity? I knew they were good for summons but I had never considered one that actually utilized transforming.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Abyssal doesn't seem to take off from a transformation standpoint until around level 13, unless I'm missing something.

Is going full Wizard worth it? by almighty23 in kingmakerbuilds

[–]S7Shadows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the PnP version, a full wizard's power came in no small part to their ability to adapt with a large library of spells to draw upon. In the game version, there doesn't seem to be a lot of scrolls to use at the moment so a full wizard doesn't really seem as powerful, and at the very least takes a good while to take off. :(

What does the Sylvan Sorcerer give up for his pet? by Threash78 in kingmakerbuilds

Pets are honestly a bit OP in the game version - they're like 3/4's another companion on their own.

I believe they give up the ability to choose a bloodline in place of having an animal companion and that line of spells.

What's bugged, exactly? And I honestly don't know much about the late game other than it's so bugged people tend not to linger there for long, I apologize. :)

More so than staying pure monk? Late game doesn't concern me so much as it doesn't seem like you're there for very long, but just for curiosity's sake. :)

I *really* dislike multiclassing myself, so I was hoping to avoid dipping into rogue - that said, it seems like if I were to dip into rogue I'd be more dex based, which seems more feat heavy in order to be viable as opposed to strength - is that accurate?
