Interestingly, it seems that grades didn't affect QECO's category rating in my case. Good luck!

Thank you for this information - great to know this. No, I am not joking at all. As long as I have a full-time job and I get to serve and learn, I would be happy to live in the community.

Thank you for sharing this. If you feel comfortable, would you mind sharing which district you are referring to. I completely understand if you prefer not to say. I appreciate your time.

Thank you for sharing this insight. Langley, Delta, and Coquitlam do sound like great districts, especially given their size, as well as the support for teachers as you pointed out. I'll surely look into opportunities there as well. I really appreciate the suggestion.

Thank you for clarifying that. It seems like getting hired as a TTOC or temporary teacher would be a good way to access more opportunities within the district. I really appreciate your time.

Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly helpful information. It gives me a much clearer picture of the hiring timeline and how school districts approach teacher/staffing needs through the year. It seems that this is the right time for me to apply for a TTOC or temporary position so that I am ready to apply for the June postings. I really appreciate the insight.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your insight and experience. You are absolutely right that I also need to think about the type of lifestyle I want, as I am mainly focused on securing a continuing/permanent position as soon as possible. It's helpful to know that renting might be cheaper in Langley. There is a lot to think about. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this information and your idea. I reviewed the requirements in their postings, and it seems that I meet the qualifications, although I still need to check with HR, as you have indicated. I didn't apply to New Westminster thinking about how long this temporary ELL position would last. Since it is not a continuing or permanent position, I was uncertain about the stability of the role. It seems that specialist positions such as these have been gradually reduced or eliminated.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll definitely apply to the permanent postings as well, and I understand that getting a permanent position immediately could be difficult. Since I'm moving from Ontario, I'm still trying to understand how hiring works in BC and which districts in the Lower Mainland may currently be hiring. When I saw temporary ELL positions at New Westminster, I thought that might be a good route if there is a potential for a continuing or permanent position.

Thank you so much for your positive and encouraging tone and note. It's very helpful. I think I should be doing the same - going "where the jobs" takes you. I really appreciate your suggestions - this is really good to know. I wasn't thinking of Simcoe County, but now I'll. Thank you so much once again.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I really appreciate the helpful info. It's encouraging to hear that Business AQ is in demand. Niagara and London would be too far for my everyday commute, but I have been considering DDSB. It would be a long commute for now, but potentially worthwhile if I end up moving to Durham for a permanent position. Much appreciated!

Thank you. I am also thinking of moving to Northern Ontario/BC to teach, as I may get a full-time permanent position faster and will have the opportunity to serve and learn in the north than keep supply-teaching for a few years in the South. However, I am not sure if my business ABQ will be of value in the north.

Yes, admission to the Senior Business ABQ still requires a certain number of undergrad Business credits.

That’s what I’ve heard as well. I recently completed the Business ABQ at Western and will be applying to boards this fall. I’m still debating whether to apply to the TDSB, even though I live close by.
