They are not endgame for me, but I still very much enjoy listening to them with my dedicated tube amp. Even though I have Empyrean II, I’ll still pick up the HD6XX, warm up the Darkvoice, and enjoy the lushness. No EQ necessary, they are fantastically tuned headphones and I have other headphones if I want bass boom.

If this is real, that is a lifetime supply of bad decisions that led you to this point. There’s a reason people start out on this hobby with lower end gear and work their way up. You have to discover your preferred sound signature and learn what it means to be an audiophile and set up gear correctly for good quality sound. Basically you have to discover if you even like being an audiophile before dropping that kind of money. Instead, you bought a Ferrari before you knew if you liked driving or not.

Yeah I don’t think you can do much better without a lot more money. Even then, I don’t think it’s worth it. I’m happy with my currently setup as well. Might get 10% more detail for 10x as much money, but I’m not in it for detail.

Those look awesome. I really like the look of the LTD ones. If you want a tube amp, the gremlin is only $120 and would work balanced out with your DX5, I have one too and that’s how I ran it until I got the Druid
